Thanks Bob. Yes I got both from Discount tire. I’ve been buying tires from them for thirty years and like the service. I didn’t get the lift but planned to in the future because Jeep said you could run 35 s on the Rubicon. We went up to Silverton to ride some trails and I had rubbing at full...
Thanks for the response Bill. I towed the truck to Silverton from Albq yesterday. I started it and moved it to my camp site, (5 min) at 2pm. Took off at 8 am and the gauge started acting up at 3 pm. Possibly the alternator going out? Night temp 40 and day temp at 70.

My 2020 just started acting up today. After driving in the mountains all day the voltage gauge started bouncing between 12.5 and 13.8. Tested battery with engine off and got 12.6. With engine on I got 12.9 Still researching it.

After driving all day in Silverton Co I noticed my voltage gauge reading 12.5. About five seconds later it jumped to 13.6. It kept bouncing back and forth every five to six seconds ranging from 12.5, 12.6, 12.7, to 13.5, 13.6, 13.8. I put a volt meter on he battery with the engine off and got...
Yesterday I final got new tires and wheels. I went with the Black Rhino Armory and BFG KO2 35”. Wow! what a difference! Before I had a lot of play in the steering wheel, the Falkens were loud and bumpy. These BFG s are smooth, quiet and grab the road, taking all the slack out of the steering...
Was born in Lima in 57, moved to NM. in 68. Does that count? We come back occasionally to see family, shop in Amish country, and get Kewpies and tenderloin sandwiches. Got family in Lima, Columbus, Springfield, Toledo and Indian Lake.
I m planning on doing the Mopar lift on my Rubi and going to 35” tires. What other components should I get with that lift. I plan to get an adjustable front track bar, but what about the rear? I hear people talking about the front, but not so much about the rear. Would I need a rear bar? Should...
I didn’t have any written plans with the exception of measurements. I knew what I wanted and just built it. I made cardboard templets and had a local shop cut the floor out of 3/16 alum diamond plate. The supporting frame was made out of 1” square tube.
I have synthetic line on my winch so In addition to the standard equipment that everyone else mentioned, I also carry a couple line protective sleeves, a rope splicing kit, and an extra bundle of 3/8 line that I can use as an extension or repairs.
I’m going to build some rock sliders for the JT. I ve got 1.75 and 2” round tube. I have enough 2” to build them but will need to buy more 1.75 if I go that route. It seems most are built from 1.75”. Would mine look goofy out of 2”? Does anybody have any sliders with 2” round? Pics would...
I wouldn’t say “worthless “. Maybe not everyday knowledge, but very useful and/or critical when needed. I ll be thinking about it everytime I buy or use steel to hold a load.
Wow!!! I never thought of all that stuff. I would just buy a shackle that I liked That’s the great thing about this forum. There are some smart people here!! Great write up Kevin! Thanks for the info.
