;) :) ;) I’m going to help add fuel to the fire.
yall should just get an auto. It’s a total life hack. Let it in “D” and forget about it.

What an awesome project!!! I look forward to the finished product and your feedback on temps and performance.
Current WRX’s have functional hood scoops with top mounted intercoolers.
Any way to make the charge air colder should have benefit on over all cooling/performance/derate issues.

Costco has always denied putting anything larger than stock on any of my vehicles. If even unrolled in on 35s to get new 35s.
have y’all had any success?
PS if I could get success there, I’d let discount price match and go to discount. (I’m not affiliated with nor do I get kick backs from...

I smoke, I get to be a cowboy and get all the hot chicks.
I drive a Jeep I get to blast through mud, look cool, go anywhere, and get all the hot chicks.
Seems pretty similar…
If they had a diesel Mojave, I’d probably have gone that route, too.
someone else mentioned NVH a few posts back, I think the diesel is a quiet if not more so compared to gas. The extra insulation they add to diesels makes quite the difference.
Agreed. @NachoRuby
what @Mac is failing to understand is that stock brakes will lock up 37s.
6pot with 18”rotors won’t stop you any faster. Lock up is lock up.
the brakes, stock or otherwise, can’t tell the difference.
I completely agree, a larger tire will increase your stopping distance.
Larger caliper/rotors/“big brake kit” won’t decrease it any. That’s my only point.
Towing heavy and experiencing brake fade? Sure, upgraded will help. Regular mountain driving where you ride your brakes? Sure, it will...
it makes the point that bigger rotors/calipers don’t stop you any faster; so long as your stock brakes can activate abs abs/or lock up your tires.
If you can lock up and/or activate abs, braking distance is all about your tires.
My duratracs did GREAT in the snow last February. This was the snow-pocalypse that brought heavy snow west of Eisenhower tunnel and shut Texas down.
we drove home to TX during all the snow.
Don’t worry about braking unless you’re hot lappjng your JT.
With bigger tires, it will take longer to stop. It is a function of the tires and not a function of the stock brakes.
larger rotors/calipers/pads will just help with fade and heat dissapation.
SB. For “store bought”
totally kidding!!!
nice looking JT!!
I’d rather have bought mine with the lift or paid someone. As it stands, I’m still sore from the self-install. (I installed my lift about 6 months ago! Lol)
I’ve been without for a few years but just got back on two wheels this weekend.
picked this up to putt around on. Installed V&H slash pipes and about to install pillion and pegs.
