My drivers side sun visor broke a few weeks ago and I haven’t had time to call the dealer or search in the forums. Very annoying that I remember whenever there is sun, I go to bring the visor down and it falls out :headbang:
I did find this thread in the JL forums...
Yes, we use similar components. I do like the location of their rail, I have one. This is very much just a different location, which some may find more useful for mounting things other than a phone or an ipad.
That said, these rails actually allow a variety of things to be mounted to them. I'll...
Is the position of your right knee where it usually rests? If so, the rail would be forward of it... I think you would be OK...
My opinion - try it. I'm going to have a refund policy, just haven't settled on how many days. For this product probably 30.
If you hate it, return it for a full...
When you say shorten - do you mean left to right? If so, not really...
I battled with this too. I thought I would bang into it all the time. I don't. I'm 5' 11" - and I've not hit it once. Granted, that might be because I designed the thing and removed it and put it on sooooo many times.
So, just an update on this. Things were fine for awhile, but I recently started to notice that the defroster was not actually working. The tabs are fine...
I brought it in to service and they've opted to replace the windshield. Waiting for the preauthorization and the part to come in...
It's official - ralphjjr is now Tortooga Custom Works.
Here is a the post in the sponsor/vendor specific forum. There is a discount code there:

Here is a link to the lower dash rail...
It's taken a lot to get here. But I've finally got a product I can sell!
There is still a lot of work I need to do on the site itself - I still have no logo, brand or marketing. But I figured I'd debut here, start getting some feedback and with everyone's input, I'll get better along the way...
Another update - shopify store is ready - well with just the one product for now (lower dash rail). I'm just waiting on the final approval and switch to make my forum account a sponsor account. Then I'll post the link to the store and hopefully I can start getting some feedback. I'll have a...
As promised, here are some pics of the garage...
Here are a few before pictures:
This was V1 of my workshop:
This is the remodel into V2.
I got everything off this wall, and moved a bunch of things around:
Then I put up some foam board insulation and plywood:
Then I built some loft...
so my take is that option 1 and 2 are your best bet. With 1 probably being the most useful. I think super deep drawers are a pain to manage - particularly with distributing the weight as you slide it out. Which means having the water tank on the inside of the bed is great - out of sight, out of...
So the month is almost up... and I got distracted with my workshop. I kept running into issues with space, tools, materials storage, cold....
So I embarked on a small remodel... and by small I mean I've gotten completely carried away. I'll post some pictures shortly.
I basically had to...
Yikes, I’ve not been coming here regularly. I’ll catch up on this thread first thing tomorrow. With the little I’ve read, I can tell you, I’m down a similar path...
I also do have to give an update on where I’m at. The short story is I had to take a pause and build myself a real workshop - plus...
I'm very very close. Just been dealing with some logistics with the raw materials and other somewhat silly logistics that are taking me longer than they should. The other part is I keep distracting myself with other ideas :headbang: but seriously before this month is up.
