  1. looking for good trails with great scenery

What are your favorite trails to ride on when you want to see beautiful scenery? The trails that require a bit of clearance and a 4x4, but aren't really about the technical crawling and sliding so much as the destinations they open up. I live in Southern Utah and get my fill of red rocks and...
  2. SavageGeese Technical Gladiator Review

I really wish he'd show the Wrangler and Gladiator shots side by side, or at least do more to point out what is different. I'm interested in this, but I don't know enough about what I'm looking at. The camera pans by while he says something was modified, but I don't really know what I'm supposed...
  3. Let me tell you my recent experience - Dealers are all over the place

Do you think the difference between the Overland and the Rubicon was mainly the tires? I'd really like to hear how a Sport S with max tow compares. I'm guessing it will ride somewhere between the Overland and the Rubicon since it will have all-terrain tires, but not as big as the Rubicon.
  4. Any manual Gladiators arriving at the dealers?

Chapman in Las Vegas claims to have 3 manual transmission Gladiators on their website. I don't know if these are on the lot or in transit. When I did a search through cars.com it showed 4.
  5. Car And Driver - Gladiator vs Colorado vs Ranger vs Ridgeline

Reviewers don't always get to pick the vehicle they review--it depends on which press fleet vehicles are available when they do the testing. That said, I think this is an interesting comparison. It is basically comparing the volume versions of each truck--these are what most people expect will...
  6. 2020 Gladiator ordering bank now open!

I agree 100%. Waiting for a couple months means: I can get a late availability color with the exact options I want The production line will have a little time to shake out by the time my order hits the line There will be more real-world reviews (not just from press events) I can go test drive...
  7. 2020 Gladiator ordering bank now open!

Here's a new video I just saw that shows the saddle leather pretty well: You can see it in other parts of the video, but that spot gives you some still shots.
  8. a close look at the tonneau cover?

Has anyone seen a detailed review of the tonneau cover yet? I've seen plenty of 30-second demos of the "weekend warrior mode" and rolling it up, but almost nothing about the quality of the material, how waterproof it is, how well it handles high speeds, how easy it is to remove...
  9. Get ready to get reamed....

Nope. I'm rarely offended. Not sure what that has to do with anything. I'm just someone who teaches for a living and believes that words matter.
  10. Get ready to get reamed....

What people complain about as being "Politically Correct" is usually just about treating other people with respect. It's a free country and you don't have to change the way you speak, but if you aren't willing to do so then you are probably an a**hole. Try mentally substituting "treating people...
  11. Gladiator Rubicon VS Colorado ZR2 Bison comparison at Moab (TFL)

LEDs often use Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) to regulate brightness. All that means is they cycle the power on and off rapidly. To your eye it appears to be a continuous (but dimmer) light, but a camera will catch some video frames when the power is on and others when the power is off. My guess...
  12. Any Dealers in Vegas Below Invoice?

Found the thread I was thinking of: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/up-to-7-off-in-idaho.14694/page-4#post-214542
  13. Any Dealers in Vegas Below Invoice?

I believe I saw an earlier thread (around LE order day) where someone from Jim Marsh said they were not planning to offer discounts yet. I'm hoping they'll come around by the time late-availability colors come out.
  14. "Rubicon"ing your Sport

Not your exact question, but I did a similar price comparison between a Sport S with max towing and a Rubicon with regular towing package. Both builds have A/T, 7" radio, black hard top, aux switch, tonneau, and slush mats, so pretty similar builds overall: Rubicon build MSRP + dest: $49,425...
  15. how dealers can sell below invoice price

This question keeps coming up in various threads: how can dealers sell for less than cost and still make money? I read something about this a while back. I can't find it now, so I'll do my best to re-state the argument. Invoice price used to be a secret number, and smart buyers who could figure...
  16. Sport S vs Rubicon standard features list

Now that invoice prices are available I added up my Sport S vs Rubicon builds again (both with AT, 7" radio, hard top, max tow, aux switch, tonneau, slush mats). The price difference at invoice pricing is smaller than for MSRP: Rubicon build MSRP + dest: $49,425 Sport S build MSRP + dest...
  17. Sport S vs Rubicon standard features list

That's what makes it so hard to decide. Here are the builds I'm comparing: Sport S: $44,960 Automatic transmission Max tow package 7-inch radio group Aux switch group Black Freedom hard top Tonneau cover Slush mats + anything else pulled in as requirements to get the above Rubicon: $49,425...
  18. Sport S vs Rubicon standard features list

I'm trying to decide if the step up from Sport S to Rubicon is worth the money, but I found it hard to compare them side-by-side. I put the standard feature lists from the configurator into a table so I could more easily see what is the same and what is different. Thought I'd share in case...
