Hmmm....I've only put 500or so miles on my JT so far, but I have not exercised the t-case that much. We're getting a few inches of snow tomorrow morning, and I'm driving it 70miles to work. This might be fun....i'll see how well it goes from 4h to 4l at speed.
I rode Ducati for the past 30 years...very similar to a Harley in terms of potential for spending big $$ aftermarket for upgrades. Finally sold my last, and converted the $ into a JK, and subsequently a JT. The equally impressive aftermarket support for Jeep is not helping my wallet.... ;)
Seems odd, I would be barking at the dealer on this as well. My build sounds really close to yours...fairly straight forward, no bedliner for instance. Ordered 10/7 and picked up 11/9. That amount of variation is not good...
I went from a 2015 JK Sport 6 speed to my current JTR 6 speed. Transmission and clutch engagement points are different as has been discussed elsewhere...but the JTR is much easier to live with as a daily driver. Much more comfy. I'm also having fun with a six speed in the snow. :like:
I know others have had a hard time getting delivery on custom orders, but I only had to wait 4.5 weeks for mine (Oct 7 to Nov 9). I simply could not find exactly what I wanted...anywhere. Finding it for a dealer swap just wasn't going to happen, for sure complicated by me wanting a 6 speed. My...
Marc Motors in Sanford handled my custom order - excellent price in writing when I placed the order. Not quite Travis/TriCity pricing, but I didn't have to travel and they gave me really excellent pricing on my trade in JK.
I spent a few minutes today reading about Ford's current woes regarding transmissions in Fiesta and Focus, and in particular the crappy way they have handled it...a really poor display of customer focus. In contrast, today Jeep authorized extending my warranty to 7/75 via Max Care.
For free…...
I have had an excellent experience with Marc Motors in Sanford, Me. They gave me an incredible deal on my trade in JK Sport, as well as 3% under invoice on a well optioned Rubicon. Plus, they are ten miles from my house. Ordered on 10/7, picked up 11/9. Unfortunately, my 6 speed tranny...
Sunrider is in my not so immediate future -next spring. I love the simplicity, and would keep it on full time, but that's not the best option for me up here in Maine. Swapping back and forth between the sun rider and freedom panels a couple times per year seems fairly simple.
The dealer experience was excellent, for sure - Marc Motors in Sanford, ME. The new tranny arrived at the dealer the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and I had the truck back Friday morning at 11. No issues whatsoever with the dealer, they have been great!
So just to close this off - Jeep replaced my 197 mile old 6 speed with a new unit. Apparently the failed unit is headed back to corporate for tear down - I'd love to hear the results to understand root cause. In any event, the Jeep is back in my hands and all good after another 150 miles. I'm...
Snow is just getting to Maine, tomorrow will be fun. This is the first time in a long time for me with a six speed in the snow. Donuts might happen....
I picked mine up 2 weeks ago, ordered 10/7 and picked up on 11/9. I think FCA has this line running much better than earlier in the year. I'll bet you get yours before year end. Congrats!
My dealer informed me today that Chrysler has authorized a new tranny. Probably the right direction.....but I will wind up with a 197 mile truck that has already had it's guts pulled out, which obviously is not optimal. I'm thinking about diminished value.....I would guess this will show up on...
So this is certainly not what I wanted for my first post......I've been lurking for several months mulling over a purchase, and finally pulled the trigger - picked up my billet silver 6spd Rubicon last week. It was ordered on 10/7 and I picked it up on 11/9, so an excellent turn around by FCA...
