When I calibrated my tires I used the stationary radar speed displays that show “Your Speed” common to slow down zones when approaching communities. Got it spot on at 50kph, 60kph, 70kph and 80kph. So while there may be an accuracy variance of +- 1 or 2 % from the radar readers, I think it is...
Well, then I guess it has to be an FCA thing in the US. And I have no idea why it would not be mandatory to change it in both countries. Perhaps there is a lawsuit fear about taking on a liability for a non factory change.
I mentioned in another thread about this that in Canada dealers are not allowed to change tire sizes. It is against Transport Canada regulations. Perhaps this is migrating to some states?
Well, I’m at 6 weeks now waiting for a LF axle M210 Dana series. The axle shaft finally showed up yesterday. Now, the install kit that goes with the axle was missing. Supposedly it is in transit. This is looking like a 2 month down for a fucking axle shaft. I don’t care what supply chain issues...
The data I quoted was from the US Energy Department from a DuckDuckGo search . It had the US at 18%, and China at 31%. Also in the material was a pie chart of users in the US. Overall the US military uses 50 million gals a month of fossil fuels - from 2016. The latest data also still has Canada...
So as a follow-up, I think I have solved 1 issue. The rpm is sensitive to cold idle rpm. So if the cold idle is at 1000 rpm then the differential between low idle and cold idle will ramp up the Tazer idle speed. As my truck has been at the dealer for a month I can’t test anything else.
Agreed, it can be done by anyone with basic mechanical knowledge and skill; and yes these corps make the call.
As far as retaining the axle I believe under the terms of warranty the manufacturer is entitled to keep the damaged/used parts. if it is a non warranty repair then yes, the customer is...
Except in this case the confusion for the rear axle is that the seal can’t be replaced independent of the axle shaft - not economically at least. So the shaft with seal assembly is the repair.
Yes, and I suppose this is why they put a vehicle down status on it to limit further damage.
To me, waiting a month for an axle shaft is unacceptable. It is not Covid related, but a business decision to keep poking out factory vehicles instead of using parts to repair sold product.
Meantime...
No, you misunderstood my problem with the LF axle area. It was not leaking but had a grinding/whining noise.
That is separate and distinct to the RR axle leak.
I got into the conversation with the tech because when he said the axle was too short I enquired about the stats of the hub, and didn’t...
You know they tailored the manufacture of the bulk shock order to Jeep to fit the price point. From there it is an advertising buffalo based on prior reputation. This will bite Fox eventually.
Here is an update I got from my dealer today.
They have the RR axle shaft/seal in stock now.
The LF axle shaft is in Canada customs about 100 km away. Maybe delivered this week.
The kicker? The reason for changing the LF axle shaft is that the installed axle is too short. So this leads me to...
