  1. Diesel shocks ??

I have the Rock Krawler 3-inch diesel front springs and ICON 2.5" CDCV adjustable reservoir shocks along with MetalCloak DuroSpring bumpstops. This is what it finally took for me to eliminate the harsh front-end bottoming out even on the street. Now the suspension soaks up terrain like it's...
  2. Recommendations for shocks on Overland (no lift, sub 34" tires)

Usually the complaints people have with the twin-tube style shocks come from mounting them upside-down. Unlike gas charged monotube shocks, the Ranchos can't be mounted upside-down. What happens is the air bubble creates a large "dead spot" in the first couple inches of travel where the shock...
  3. X

Awesome trip! It's definitely on my bucket list. Proof that trails don't have to be difficult to be thrilling.
  4. Metalcloak Steering Brace: Review

Thanks for the honest review! I have one sitting in a box ready for me to get some free time to install it on my own Jeep. As someone who's had a steering box rip off the frame before, I'm all for installing as much steering bracing as possible.
  5. Recommendations for shocks on Overland (no lift, sub 34" tires)

I've used them on so many different vehicles on all types of terrain. They're not a one-size-fits-all compromise; you can adjust them to your liking, and to tune their performance to specific circumstances like empty daily driving to trailer towing. Or high-speed desert to rockcrawling. They...
  6. Jeep Grill Inserts

What a great way to make your Jeep overheat!
  7. Recommendations for shocks on Overland (no lift, sub 34" tires)

For your use case, I wholeheartedly recommend the Rancho RS9000X shocks.
  8. Anyone using this soft cap (from wild-top.com)?

    Automotive tumblehome explained
  9. Anyone using this soft cap (from wild-top.com)?

I'd like it better if it matched the tumblehome of the Gladiator's top so that it looks more integrated and boosts interior capacity.
  10. 4 extra gallons......where is it? Look MOM I can read with my eyes closed!!

I came here to say this! Modern vehicles do NOT want their tanks to be run dry - the fuel pump relies upon the fuel to cool it, so you're shortening the life of your pump every time you run it too low.
  11. BlackFriday + CyberMonday deals thread

I really need a pair of ARB diff covers. Waiting to see who comes up with a sale on them.
  12. Foggy windshield reveals possible Easter Egg I did not know existed.

The moral of this story is that your windshield is in dire need of cleaning.
  13. Lets hear about your Lift

To fit 37's I started out with the AEV 2.0 spacer lift and upgraded it from there. First things first, since I sometimes drive empty and sometimes have a big load plus a travel trailer, I added a set of Airlift airbags in back. Those continue to work perfectly. Up front, I found that I was...
  14. Cowl lights

Rather than some tacky external light pods, you could consider the integrated Lucid VSL cowl lights from D and C Designs. They work great as side lights, they have turn signal repeaters, and they don't cause glare on the hood which ruins your night vision.
  15. Thinking of trading my 21 gas JT for an eco diesel JT

The Mojave is designed for high speed desert 2-tracks, aka jumps. Jeep chose to stick with the lightest engine offering for this platform for that reason, and even then they still had to upgrade it for strength in a few key areas. Add another several hundred pounds for the diesel, and it's no...
  16. Diesel cooling options and ideas

Would you recommend we pull the engine cover off then?
  17. AUX battery delete and using Antigravity Brand Battery

This is my concern with upgrading to lithium batteries. Automotive charging systems are designed for lead-acid batteries, not lithium. Antigravity Batteries is marketing their batteries specifically for automotive use (hence their giveaways to "influencers" like Kevin & Brittany Williams) but...
  18. Excellent comparison of IFS vs SFA (Jeep on 37s vs FJ cruiser) from a Toyota fan.

They only sound knowledgeable to the unknowledgeable. I think you hit the nail on the head.
  19. New Open Country R/T Trail

This chart doesn't include the new R/T Trail, which is the tire that this thread is about. The R/T Trail is a different tire than the regular R/T, which I've seen perform in the snow - and it was absolute garbage. I hope the R/T Trail does a better job, but as it's not 3PMSF rated, it won't be...
  20. Excellent comparison of IFS vs SFA (Jeep on 37s vs FJ cruiser) from a Toyota fan.

I've always thought they're a bunch of doofuses. Why are they so popular???
