  1. Rear bumper rust around tow hooks

Eastwood Rust Converter is the product I used for this project, not the encapsulator.
  2. Rear bumper rust around tow hooks

And now for the obligatory Gladiator picture because… Gladiator. I can’t seem to find any straight on from the rear pics, but you can see in the zoomed in version that the area around the tow hook is good to go now.
  3. Rear bumper rust around tow hooks

The rust on mine had already started when I drove it off the lot with less than 25 miles on the odometer. I noticed it and knew I would need to address the issue. All of this kind of stuff is annoying, I’ll give you that, and they should be using better paint in that area. In reality, most...
  4. Rear bumper rust around tow hooks

I used Eastwood after cleaning up the minor surface rust. After it cured I painted with AEV textured black paint. It now looks exactly like the finish on the bumper.
  5. Rear bumper rust around tow hooks

It’s not the bumper, it’s the frame ends. I had it too. Easy fix. Remove bumper, do some light sanding, prep and repaint with something better.
  6. Bed cover with rack

upTOP Overland truss rack & Softopper.
  7. Bestop appearance and fitment vs Softopper

yes and no. If installed the way I have it, yes. But it’s relatively easy to take off if I wanted to use the forward rail. Alternatively, I’d imagine that instead of one long continuous piece (such as the one I put together) it would be possible to fabricate 3 smaller sections and leave the...
  8. Bestop appearance and fitment vs Softopper

The fix I made for this problem… I installed the provided snaps onto a piece of wood and then attached the wood to the rail with some generic inserts. Works perfect.
  9. Bestop appearance and fitment vs Softopper

Is this a reflection of the sun or did it rub through your paint?
  10. Jeepers of Maryland

https://teraflex.com/jt-uinta-cargo-tie-down-anchor-kit.html I’ve got 2 pair of the teraflex cargo rail tie downs I’m not going to end up using. Turns out I don’t have room for them after installing my rack & Softopper. I’d like to get $75 for the set of 4.
  11. Bestop appearance and fitment vs Softopper

The rear window doesn’t really fall far enough down to need to use them. Also, the bar across the lower part of the window holds the entire rear window assembly pretty firmly. I’ve not had anyone follow me, but I don’t believe it’s flapping. If you push on the canvas material below the window &...
  12. Bestop appearance and fitment vs Softopper

I originally installed some rare earth magnets inside the tailgate to get around using the Velcro. It lays fine without anything IMO. I will still be using the magnets for bottom fitment of my topper tent. https://thetoppertent.com/
  13. Bestop appearance and fitment vs Softopper

@BajaTJ - I also liked the setup on the rear (tailgate) of the bestop cover better than the Softopper. But overall, I think the bestop is super ugly for the same reasons you mentioned. I actually don’t mind the way my Softopper closes now. I’ve got a 2” strip of xpel paint film across the top of...
  14. Bestop appearance and fitment vs Softopper

A few pictures of my Softopper. Install can be a pain, but it looks good once it’s dialed in.
  15. Stock Diff Covers

I was under the impression that people have been reusing the stock diff gaskets without issue. I believe I actually read that on this forum. I’ve got front and rear arb’s to install, and oil, but did not get new gaskets.
  16. Let's see your 285/75 17 tires

Better than any mud terrain I’ve had, but probably not quite as good as the BFG AT. The lugs are larger, like a mud terrain, but are mildly siped. I believe the RT is marketed as a hybrid tire - not as aggressive as a MT, but more aggressive than an AT. It certainly didn’t feel unsafe, but I...
  17. Devils advocate of upping tire size.

Happy with them so far. I was looking for an alternative to the BFG AT. I’ve run those on everything for the past 10+ years. They look more aggressive IMO and they’re pretty quiet.
  18. GDE tune with lift and bigger tires...

Can’t speak to how it would be with the Gladiator, but my previous truck was an 18 RAM Ecodiesel, 3.92 gears, limited slip, GDE hot tune & their transmission tune. Upgraded from stock suspension with the Bilstein 5100 lift/level. 35” BFG All Terrains from stock 33” Goodyears. The dealer...
  19. Devils advocate of upping tire size.

You’ve got to do what’s best to suit your needs and ignore anyone telling you that you’ve gotta have 37’s, 40’s, whatever to be happy. I’ve gone with a 1” front, 1/2” rear teraflex spacer. 315/70’s C load rated (34.5”?) on stock wheels. It’s a good slightly off-stock solution for me. With the...
  20. Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer question?

I installed the Fox stabilizer and the lower control arms from the Mopar 2” lift when I installed a teraflex 1” puck up front. Along with an alignment. 21 gas Rubicon. Drives like different vehicle. 1 finger steering at highway speed with no issue. The LCA’s are ever so slightly longer but all...
