Would you recommend that? It makes no difference if the other oil has been heat cycled or not. If it hasn’t broken down due to heat which is pretty much impossible with synthetic fluid unless you run it out of water, adding a quart hurts absolutely nothing.
I’ve always used Metalcloak for steering components and have zero complaints. Ball joints I’ve used teraflex and dynatrac and no issues with them either. I’m sure there are plenty of good products, but those are the ones I’ve used with big tires and a lot of wheeling.
There are quite a few people floating around with 40’s on completely stock axles with no issues.
I went all out with mine. Both axles trussed, 5.13’s, RCV’s (front), dynatrac ball joints, synergy knuckles, apex high pressure steering and cooler, Metalcloak HD Steeriny, and Metalcloak track bar...
Ryan from engineering is assuming a proper .006-.010 backlash, proper pinion depth, and no abuse.
The people saying the pinion on the 5.38 can cause issues are expecting abuse.
Either way, if you aren’t on wet rock wheel hopping like hell as you try to climb something it doesn’t matter. From a...
At a bare minimum yes. Being a jeep guy I’d expect the 35’s to be the max til they wear out and then you put 37’s on it.
I would do 4.88’s at a minimum but prefer 5.13’s if you’re gonna be towing that much. I ran 37’s for a little while and still thought 5.13’s were perfect with no trailer...
That’s the 5.38 and it’s an issue with bad wheel hop, it can happen to 4.10’s and 3.73’s as well. A poor install will just bite you faster with deeper gears due to higher ta multiplication and a smaller pinion which will really exacerbate the issue of excessive backlash.

I have never had PPE cover, all my previous jeeps I just used solid axle industries cover.
I put AFE on my gladiator just because I didn’t really have a preference, just wanted iron and a little more capacity.
They looked great, the fill plug is still on the front but I can empty a bottle...
Gears gears gears.
Will it turn them, sure. Will it suck, most definitely. Just bite the bullet, do some 5.13’s, and enjoy.
Driving from the tire shop to the gear shop on 35’s with my wife’s JLUR was bad. The constant shifting and lugging and lazy acceleration, just no.
I pass cars as easily...
5.13’s and the 3.6 go together perfectly. Smallest tire I’ve ran was a 37” Toyo open country, it’s heavy, spun about 2500 at 75 and got 16mpg. With 40’s I get 15.5 or so on the highway and 16+ in town. Best I had was 38” pats and it got 16.5 on the highway as they’re light as hell. I drive...
I run mine at 10 when I play on the rocks and I have 0 issues. I don’t run BFF’s, I have been using Patagonia’s for about 6-7 years and love em, but I’ve never once had a bead break loose on some pretty gnarly trails.
Looking for a replacement for factory LED/BSM that are NOT flush mount.
Hung my right one up on a tree when I slid into a rut at Hot Springs offroad park. Broke just a piece of the lens but no replacement lens and I’m NOT willing to pay the molar price for a new right tail light lol.
All the...
I have the full MB quart 6 speaker 2 sub 3 amp setup.
It’s not awful, pretty good actually for a ready made system, but you could probably piece together a higher quality system for less.
I’ll most likely end up changing it out and adding a DSP to mine.
Something for everyone.
I personally won’t do events like that. Just like bike rallies, it takes away from the actual activity. Go to sturgis, it’s not about riding anymore, it’s drinking and partying and waiting in line to ride 1/10 as much as you could alone which adds to some people’s...
