Wire gauge depends on length of run due to a combination of total current and the ever increasing resistance over distance. The winch wires are plenty at 2 gauge as it’s not a long run of wire.

I’ve always done every 10k with royal purple and a wix filter. I’ve got a cubic butt ton of miles on 4 different 3.6’s over the past 10 years and never had one give me a single hiccup. 5k isn’t hurting anything, but it’s unnecessary.
