Sounds like a similar crowd to what’s in my area. I went to one local “Jeep club” event and it turned out it was just a place for over 40 something’s to get wasted. Luckily it wasn’t a day they were running trails otherwise I could only imagine how dangerous that would have gotten. Decided I...
The pop could have been a hallucination on my part because I couldn’t get it to happen again. Everything looked good to the super quick eye test. This will probably force me to finally go RCV for sure.
Haven’t noticed anything effecting the speed of the tapping only that it stops when I come to a complete stop or am accelerating. I thought I heard a pop at full lock to the left but couldn’t duplicate it. Have not tried engaging front locker. It does have a FAD. I was going to mess around with...
So I’ve been hearing a tapping sound only when slowing down in 4WD nothing while accelerating. Wouldn’t call it a knock just a light tapping. At first I thought it might me a wheel center cap but they’re tight and that’s unlikely. Thinking maybe axle shaft? What should I do next to narrow down...
I’m sure it’s a price I’ll never be able to pay but out of curiosity what was total cost of the swap? Same as their website or does that differ vehicle to vehicle?
I’m sure it was fine when it was first installed (been on the truck since 2022) but as a long term solution I wouldn’t trust it. I did the math and my tire and wheel is 130# I think it would be fine with less than 100# on it. I’ll continue to use it for camping gear but will likely still need to...
This is a lot less of an issue than you would think. It sits high enough on the tailgate that I’ve never had a problem. Stability has been my issue with it.
The real problem is stability with a 110# tire and wheel. The latch and hardware that hold it together leave a lot to be desired. I’ll tighten everything down and hit some trails then the tire will start shaking badly. Lost the 1 1/8 in bolt that holds the spindle. The latch moves back and forth...
I definitely know about the hoist but I’m also wondering if I need the carrier assembly. Would be awesome if someone had some pictures I could reference. I’m pretty sure it’s number 33 in this diagram.
I was wondering if anyone here has good photos of the OEM spare tire carrier and hoist under the bed. I bought JT used and the previous owner gutted everything under the bed and used a JCR off-road swing arm. I am wanting to put my tire back under the bed but I’m not 100% sure what all is...
I think you’re absolutely correct. If I lived in a more mountainous area or had a rooftop tent (plan to at some point) I would have already done the regear.
I’m in Florida so I rarely see a hill to drive up. I get 8th on the highway but it hunts a bit. Off-road has been fine, although the hardest trails I’ve rode were north Georgia moderate difficulty. Feels fine around town and daily driving. When my beds loaded down is when I only catch 8th on a...
I’m not brand loyal at all and just recently got my first Jeep. My last truck Was more modern but I didn’t care for it. It honestly created more problems. Install a cool front bumper? Now your adaptive cruise and collision alert doesn’t work right and throws codes. Want a lift? More specialized...
It seems to have solved itself. I did all the reboots correctly and then drove it around the block a few times but it was still on. After dinner I jumped back in the truck to run to the gas station and the TPMS light is off now!
