Skins arrived today. “Installation” took two seconds, and removal takes one second. Looks like they’ll protect the leather, but I wish they didn’t use such a glossy plastic, looks like it’s dripping with armor all.
Sold the red dash panels, bought some gray ones and color matched Gobi.
Also installed the ZAuto front camera at the same time (don't recommend, not very high quality)
Anyone have pics of the tan? Debating order, and if so stuck between black/tan. I have a Gobi and color matched the dash, but black leather, so probably black.
On of the studs for the sensors wasn’t welded properly and I didn’t notice until after powder coat, Rebel basically told me figure it out.
I probably need to re-adjust the sliders then. Thanks.
How well are your parking sensors? Mine haven't worked right since I installed the bumper, keeps saying I need to clean the sensors. Also, any issues with your bed sliders touching your flares, or the driver side one touching the muffler?
I’ve always been partial to the TJ Brutes. Buddy has one with an LS1/4L60E, D60/14bolt, 37s and a high line kit NIB he’s talked about selling. He just ordered a JTR.
I know plenty of people are happy with Ace, but not my buddy. I showed him my DB, but after he saw the price he went with Ace. He had an issue on something with the mounting and sealing of it. He also finds it more inconvenient to reach items in the back of the bed.
it’s like 6.25’
The biggest inconvenience is trying to sit on the tailgate with it on there, it still fits in the garage though. Also, just found out if I were to use the bike hitch rack, I’d need an extender because the handlebars hit the tent. No major complaints.
Hardwired a Viofo A119 V3 dash cam. Removed the passenger side cowl corner, and folded the windshield down to run the wiring inside instead struggling with the firewall again. Then ran the wires up the passenger A pillar and up to the cam behind the mirror.
Also prepping for the next Moab trip...
With the tent opened up, stand underneath where the two halves meet. Make sure the half with the ladder is in the channel of the stationary side. You may have to push up on the half with the ladder to get it to sit right. Sorry no pictures right now.
Im not a fan of bed racks from an appearance standpoint, or because they leave your gear exposed.
I’m running the Diamondback with FrontRunner cross bars. I don’t need a truck most of the time, but if I do I can remove the Diamondback with 4 bolts or take the dually with the 8’ bed.
On a day...
Oddly enough, it works. But you’re making my eye twitch knowing they’re different grays.
I like the black top to break up the color match, and color matched flares. I hate the way the textured black flares turn gray over the years.
Kinda reminds me of the Toyota FJC interior.
I went the paint route. Others have DIY paint, but I wanted to make sure it looked quality, so I had a body shop take care of it. I bought a set of gray Sport panels and had those painted, sold the red Rubi panels to offset the cost. There is some...
