I wanted to get rid of the switchblade, plus I like the tan. I picked up a Renegade valet key blank, cut down the length, and drilled a hole so I can still use it. I use the small s-biner for leverage.
I’ve bent the tabs on other trucks, figured I’d give the skid a try. I’d say I’m happy with it in Moab last week. Sure it might’ve hit more than it would have without it, but when it did hit it saved damage from the hitch. I can also slide straight off a ledge and am less likely to hit my bumper.
Just returned from the first road trip in the JT. Everything went great, and all mods functioned as desired. Moab, Bryce NP, Zion NP, Sedona, White Sands NP.
Needless to say, after the 6 hour hike at Zion we were beat. The next day we jumped over to Sedona, AZ to run the Broken Arrow Jeep trail. The trail was fun, but very short. The Pink Jeep tours run their TJ/LJs through there non stop, and at a very quick pace.
Sedona was crazy...
We hung around Bryce for the day before making our way over to Zion National Park and Springdale, UT. We set up camp further south in the Dixie NF to a nice sunset.
Zion NP uses a shuttle system to get you throughout the park, restricting personal vehicle traffic only to the lodge for those...
The next day we made our way over to Capitol Reef National Park for a quick hike up Cassidy Arch and Hickman Bridge.
Afterwards we ventured over to Bryce Canyon National Park for the Navajo Loop and Queens Garden
We camped just outside of Bryce in the Dixie National...
First trip with the JT in the books. Overall, pretty happy with it running 37s on the 4.10s at 75mph in 8th gear. Space was a bit tight in the bed with the cover and fridge, but the outlet I recently added worked great. Ran the fridge for the entire week off the starting battery. Love the height...
I didn't really want to spend $300+ on a fridge slide, so I took some wood and made a fridge holder. Threw a sheet of acrylic plastic under the fridge to help it slide, and my wife wanted to put some color on it, so she painted a mountain scene for me. Checked out the Smitybilt XL RTT and am...

I've had the Smittybilt XL tent for a few years now (pre JT). Just threw it on, and since mine is lower, it doesn't bother me too much.
I tried the standard size RTT first, and the XL is definitely nicer to have.
I added a couple pictures of my buddy's Sting JT showing a full rack with an XL...
