I hated the red dash on the Rubicon when I was still shopping around. But then I found out that when it has the tan leather instead of black, then it came with the graphite dash. So that's what I got.
Since working as an A&P mechanic, it has opened my eyes to a lot of what causes corrosion. I would recommend (long term fix) to "wet seal" the screws, preventing any galvanization between the 2 metals. Not sure what grade steel either of the 2 metals are, but they may have varying levels of...
Finally got my custom center caps with Jeep emblems installed on the RockTrix wheels. And questions on the process, my post is here:

Well, I got the caps all epoxied last night. Had some leak through around the edge of the inner Jeep cap, but after it fully set over night, I was able to remove the excess with a plastic scraper and some alcohol. I'm pretty pleased with the project overall. Any questions on it, let me know!
I've been working long hours this week, nearly 14 hrs/day so I have had zero time to finish up the other 3 center caps. I hope the weather holds out this weekend and I can get the truck washed, have all the caps installed Saturday and have pics for everyone.
I see a similar issue happening with the Gladiator that happened with the Commander. Ill-advised engine platforms, except the 5.7. But could many afford the 5.7 option? No way, especially in what ended up being a decently strong recession. My 5.7 Commander was almost 50K in 2006. That equates to...
I looked on the website and it says they're 4900 lbs "dry weight". Idk what that all does NOT account for, but fluid wise the 3 tanks hold a total of 79 gallons. That's 550 pounds extra by itself. Like another said, you could do it locally, but I would never move it long distance. That 18' would...
Also sucks that you'd prob be calling them to make a custom camper/rack for it too. I like it a lot, but I can see the future pain the owner would go thru getting parts/accessories for it. That money he saved will go somewhere else on it if he actually keeps it--which in all honesty would be an...

Imagine the dealers that have been holding on to manual trans JTs since around March of last year. Even if they had a buyer, they couldn't let them go. That hurts!
Yep, everywhere else I looked this was the deal, super low price, BS junk fees after finally getting the truth. I was nearly fed up to the point of getting something else. I happened on mine locally, not even 30 mins away on Black Friday. When I asked about any additional fees, they told me...
Jeez, glad everone is okay. Looking at that, it could have been a lot worse. I had something pop up from a car in front of me a few months ago while driving my Commander. Had plenty of room in front of me, but I was going at least 75. Went right under their back tire and before I could react it...
The other 3 caps went a lot smoother once I got the press set up properly. All of them are taped up ready to go. One issue dawned on me as I was prepping the caps for epoxy that I don't think the JL member had considered. I slung tires as a teenager for about a year and I remembered how I...
Yeah I have the 5.7 with the QDII, tow a lot with it and take it camping when it's decent weather. We throw down the back 2 rows and fit a full-size air mattress in it
