Wish Bushwacker made the hydraforms for Gladiators. They are paintable and come with lights. They make them for the JL, so the front will fit, but not the rears.
I used to laugh at these posts, but after 80,000+km in my Gladiator, I have to agree. I find the side bolsters to be the cause of my discomfort, as I like to spread my legs out (insert joke here) when driving.

You could make yours a spring loaded fold-up design with a quick release pin for removal while on the trial. The fold up would allow for a lower step height for entering the Jeep.

If it is just a step that attaches to the Rubi rail....there are a couple makes out there.
