Mine (4.10 + 37's + Alu-Cab Canopy Camper) will hold 8th gear in most situations on the highway, only dropping to 7th on more vertical hills. Wind can be a bitch though.
My Gladiator is heavy and I am happy with 4.10's and 37" Nitto Recons. Nitro actually did a batch of the 4.30s, but I barely missed the boat when shopping for the gears. I would have gone that way, but again, I am happy with the 4.10s. The Jeep holds 8th gear on everything except the steeper...
Have you ordered just the front section? Curious what the price is since they don't list just the front section on the site. Since their full-length system is $1k, guessing it would still be around $800
I think a few of us have been waiting for some of the simpler rack companies to come out with a shorty rack. Really, most of the racks on the market would be great to shorten, but the cost of them doesn't make it cost effective. I for sure don't want to chop up a $1000 rack.
Sounds like Sherpa...
Good. Father is picking up his camper for his JT in a month or so and thinking about a diesel heater.
I went with the fireplace, mainly for the ambience (to get my wife to go camping). If I had to do it over again, think I probably would have gone the diesel route, esepecially since mine JT is...
It was. After using it for a summer, I wasn't a fan of the bench seat up agaisnt the water tank. So I am actually in the middle of building out a new interior that will house all the camping gear. I will update in a week or so with some fresh photos of the interior.
Keep an eye on that compressor, they really don't like excessive engine heat which can cause the life of the compressor to be reduced. The first sign that the compressor is being subjected to too much heat would be the discoloration of the blue anodized compressor bracket.
I am happy with the performance. 4.56 would be too much and 4.30s weren't available. I think Nitro only ran one batch of 4.30 gears which I would have gone with because of the weight of my Jeep. If your Jeep isn't heavy, then not sure the gear change is really necessary with the diesel. Or just...
So has anyone ordered/installed one that has the low fender flares? AEV said it will fit, you will just have a gap between the fender and snorkel body.
