I have the Rockslide Engineering steps and would Not recommend for what you are needing. My dad is 87 and it isn't easy for him to get in and especially out of the front seat with them. The way the steps deploy, the back seat would be very difficult for most people especially an 80 year old...
I've removed the top by myself once. It was awkward but not impossible. Stood in bed and lifted, turned around and set it down. Exited the bed and slid to back of tailgate, then got under it and lifted it off, squatting down to place the back on the floor, then lowered the front carefully...
I want the waterproof and the drawer storage. The Upper Decker gives me the option to add other options too. I might not like it but looks like a good plan to me.
