UPDATE - Rockslide Engineering Steps
So the tread tape on the back of my steps was wrinkling up since the first time I deployed them. Talked to the rep that was at All4Fun in Colorado. He thought it was bad tread tape and sent me two new rolls. Well Wednesday I finally got to cleaning the driver's side to install the new tape. After cleaning, I noticed a definite worn spot on the step and after further investigation (and searching the forum) discovered there is a hard stop piece that the step is to rest against when stowed. This is what is causing the tape to wrinkle. The pix below show the spot and my fix of leaving that space with no tread tape. I emailed pix to the rep at Rockslide Engineering and he asked for video of the steps being stowed so I sent that to him to. Great, fast and clear communication from him that he and the engineers want to resolve this as they stand behind a premium product. Waiting to hear what they come up with.

Rockslide Engineering has been in touch! They will have some modifications to send me soon to try. I’m very impressed they are so engaged in improving their product!

Bestop Sunrider installed. Fits great, easy install. Haven't been on the highway at speed yet.

Happy to see it on a JT with the red top. I was wondering how it would look. How difficult would it be to go back to hard top in winter? Great looking JT, I love everything you've done with it.

Thanks! I’ve changed it back a few times. It is real easy, takes about 10-15 minutes.

With the top up how much extra height to the jeep does it add, would your jeep fix under an 80" garage door with the top folded back considering the lift and tires?

It adds some inches. Mine just barely fits my standard height garage with the sunrider open. I mean BARELY!! I usually try to stop and close it but I forget often, then when I get out I'm always surprised it didn't hit!

I want the waterproof and the drawer storage. The Upper Decker gives me the option to add other options too. I might not like it but looks like a good plan to me.

I like your idea with the Decked + Ace Engineering cover. I'm a little skeptical on the hinges ACE used - they look small, especially where it hinges in the front. Hard to tell in the pictures.....

I had the same thought. They haven’t shipped that yet. Thinking I should wait to install it first, then the Decked so I can get to the hinges. Would probably install the Upper Decker, then lift off, install the Decked, then re-attach the Upper Decker.

Today I installed the Decked System. Fantastic instructions that were very easy to follow. Also watched the new video from WayofLife before I installed. That was helpful. The quality is very good. About 5” of space above the deck to the bottom of the rail. I get my Ace Engineering Upper Decker Tuesday. Hoping it will be easy to install without removing the decks.....Let me know if you want anymore details or pix.
