The percentage of jeep waves that I get in the gladiator are much lower than in my wifes JKU or my 1982 scrambler...we speculate that people might not consider the gladiator a "jeep." Even other gladiator drivers around here are less than a 50/50 chance of a return wave.
They probably buggered up the original pitman arm trying to remove it from the sector shaft. In my experience new steering box and pitman arms are easier to remove, but they can still take considerable force. Sounds like they are doing a good job and not giving you back something less than...
Same month mine was built. This TSB replaces the steering box with a different part number. If it steers fine now, then it's your choice. Seems the new box is much better. I plan on bringing mine in as it wanders quite a bit more than my wifes JKU. I have 5 vehicles with solid axle fronts...
Not working for me. This is covered in the tazer thread. I've texted them and they are working a solution. Mine is a rubicon, automatic with 8.4 stereo. I also have their cargo cam installed.
Carrier bearings are easy to replace. Driveshafts are one of the most common failures for vehicles driven on trails with rocks. The extra length of a JT makes that rear driveshaft more prone to damage. With stock-sized tires that driveshaft is easy to snag on a big rock.
Good info. I ordered TPMS for a JTR from BAM. I received a message that it will take an extra 3-5 days to ship due to limited availability. Price wasn't terrible at $150ish for a set of 4
Sounds like a case of fraud against FCA. Corporate might want to hear about that.
I wouldn't trust the reciept or the service department's word for what was or was not replaced. Crawl under there and snap a picture of the steering box. We can tell you if it was replaced. If it wasn't, send...
Yes - I'd prefer to have that feature working, but for me disabling ESS and adding the Cargo cam (in the grill) were the most important. BTW, mine is a rubicon also with the 8.4.
Didn't fix mine.. Been communicating with Z Automotive to solve. I have the latest firmware. Only non-standard thing is the cargo cam that I have installed.
Its pretty difficult to wear out an overhead camshaft that uses roller followers; I wonder if there was an associated follower failure. Did you get any ticking or other engine noise?
Weathertech in my wife's jeep - excellent quality. MOPAR in my JT - excellent quality (middle of rear seat piece is a pain). Huskyliner in my F350 - one notch below Weathertech and Mopar in my opinion, but still a good floor liner at a fair price.
Binding/wore out ball joints or possibly axle u-joint if this were an older vehicle. Would be odd for a steering box to feel differently in one direction than the other. I think you need to evaluate all steering components under the front end.
