I just moved to Austin a few months ago and this is the first time I've lived in Texas during my career. I'm amazed at how many trucks I see with "Texas Edition" or something similar on them. The people here are proud to be from here, more than any other state (or country) I've lived in over a...
That's the problem - it's all subjective. I had a Nissan GTR before I had this truck - it was PEPPY. The Gladiator is peppy for a truck. I don't expect a sub-3-second 0-60 in the Gladiator, and I didn't expect to pull a 3000-pound trailer while carrying a motorcycle in the trunk of the GTR. You...
Just put on some Rockhard 4x4 Angled Down sliders and I have my Rubicon rails that would look great on your Gladiator! Only about 5,000 miles on the rails, and they're in good shape.
I just put them on this weekend. No problems with the body bolts taking it slow with a manual wrench. The hardest thing was trying to put them on the truck laying on my back all buy myself. It was a good upper body workout!
My wife uses them now to get in/out so it's been good. She's about 5'7"...
I use the 12V for an air compressor until I splurge and put in a dedicated system. That will probably go hand-in-hand with when I get the brake controller installed.
Adaptive Cruise Control - it's awesome if you drive a lot of long-distance and have periodic traffic. You set the cruise control speed and it will maintain that speed until you come up behind another vehicle. At that point it will slow and maintain a steady distance behind that vehicle until...
Can you take a picture from where your head would be in the driver's seat? This looks like it might be great as long as it doesn't hang down too far. How did you power it?
I'd love to see what you come up with. My wife has a Grand Cherokee with a keyfob that's probably 2/3 the size of my Gladiator fob and has one extra button to open the tailgate. So it's got more buttons (I assume more electronics) and a slide-out key and it takes up far less volume than the...
Hence why I want to wait and see. I'm not expecting to pull anything for at least a few months anyway so I don't need it. And I have an Echo that I got when I bought the truck so it'll suffice for a while. I'll be watching this thread though, and it's good to finally see some progress from FCA.
I'll wait for a month or two and hopefully my dealership will have a chance to install a couple before they use my truck as the test bed. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks and if there are any installation hiccups. It integrates into the UConnect, right?
You can drag the camera icon to the bottom of the screen so it's always there, replacing one of the other icons that you may not use so much. That's what I did because sometimes when I pull forward into my garage I need to see what tools I'm about to run over because I left them on the ground...
I use this tire deflator I bought from Amazon for $30 and this tire inflator that I got from Amazon for $60. I've used them both a few times without any issues. The deflator is easy to use and the inflator is fast to inflate my 33s and small enough that it fits into the underseat storage in the...
These look awesome - I ordered some angled down a couple of weeks ago, so they should arrive by mid-October. They're ostensibly a step for my wife, but I also like the look so they serve dual purpose. Are they slippery at all?
What size step drill did you need to use? I don't have one so I'd...
No, they just mentioned that it was a while between when the JL RTR was available and when the JL kit was available. Looking at the Axial site, there's probably only a few parts different between the JT and JL versions, so I may just try to figure out the different parts (body, extended frame...
I stopped by the hobby store this morning while I was running errands and they had one in stock. I'm going to wait until they offer the kit so I can put in my own motor/electronics and paint it the way I want it. It was hard to leave it sitting there in the hobby shop though!
I've towed a UHaul trailer with a motorcycle in the back of the truck and the tailgate down and it worked just fine. You would definitely need to consider how much articulation you'll get with the tailgate down, both up/down and left/right. The trailer needs to have a long tongue for it to work...
