Not taking mine when it delivers. My MY22 finally showed up and I took that one, but for information sake:
Order confirmed 8/16
Shipped 10/15
White Overland Diesel
Anyone in the Dallas area looking for a diesel overland? Know where you can find one. :)
I asked the guy at my local Discount Tire before I ordered my Nittos. He immediately warned me away from those tires. Get what you pay for type thing as he explained it.
Only if the market drives it. Government needs to stay out. CA is completely idiotic thinking they can force EV sales by 2035. They can't keep the power on now...
Not necessarily disagreeing with your points, but those things have to happen in the off-road world for it to be a possibility...
I said EV, not hybrid. Mincing of words perhaps. I was trying to find the link someone else posted stating as much. Niche vehicle and no plans for a full EV. Off-road weekend in the mountains? Nope, can't do that. No way to charge.
Until they come out and state the diesel is gone.... also consider the fact they have stated the Gladiator is not going EV...
Some of you... seriously, nothing but love, but come on.
I'm still happy to see 4+4= 123
Why wouldn't the article read "Stellantis drops EcoDiesel across the board"... They didn't, so let's not all run and jump off a cliff. Someone recently posted another article saying the Gladiator won't be going electric. If that's the case, this engine ain't...
Ship date preproduction is not a ship date. Basically the day they put it all together. Once it's built, you'll get a new ship date that may or may not be accurate!
I've seen and hear of the truckloads they get. My guess is Chrysler knows this. I almost ordered there. My gf used to live in TN. Would have given an excuse to visit.
Reminds me of a trip I took to Montrose with a buddy. Wasn't in a Jeep, but was at least a 4X4. Some of those roads going up the mountains... No guard rails, just a nice steep drop to somewhere they might never find you. Started snowing and we heard that some of the roads had been closed. I...
Not true sir. I ordered a 23 while I was unsure if my 22 was ever going to make it here. They had to cancel the 23 order. Rep said they were only allowed so many. Dealers will try and put in fake sold orders to get the inventory faster.
With the diesel, make sure you go big enough on the leveling kit, especially if you have aftermarket bumper and winch, or plans for them. I have the Mopar lift with Smitty bumper and winch. Had to use a 1.5" level in the front and still has a slight rake.
Not really. But I will agree with what others have said. This thread is/was about a diesel. Kinda makes it a moot point, at least for this thread.
Think we can all agree on it being somewhat subjective? If you're truly rock crawling on the weekends, maybe its 100% necessary to re-gear...
Think I covered that. Mentioned it didn't hit 8th as often as I'd hoped. Even another response above mentioned shift points, can even agree with that. But to call it utter trash? Nah.
But I've also had 35s with 4.10s in my Mojave. I'd say I was disappointed in how minor any differences...
If we were talking about the 3.21s you used to could get on a Wrangler, I'd agree. Was absolutely atrocious on anything but stock tires/wheels. I drove the 3.73 for two years, 4.10 for a year. Pretty good real world use and subjective or not, you're going to be hard pressed to tell the...
Bully or not, he's not wrong. 1st JT was a Sport S with 3.73 and 35s with Mopar lift. Didn't see 8th as often as I'd have liked, but not really noticeable other than that. Even averaged 19MPG with mixed driving.
Fast forward to my Mojave with standard 4.10s. Noticed zero difference from one...
Just traded my Mojave for a Sport S (Texas Trail). More worried about regretting THAT decision. Absolutely amazing ride comparably speaking. Night and day difference between Mojave and Sports S. Adding the Mopar lift helps, but still no comparison IMO.
My Mojave I traded has a similar ride height as the Rubi. Opted not to do a spacer lift and to me, didn't really need one. I had a Sport S prior with the Mopar lift. (Yes, I'm on my 3rd Gladiator in less than 3 years.) Didn't realize how much higher it actually feels with the lift. Only...
