66,000 at time of ticking. Two dealerships told me it’s a low end noise and the motor needs replacing. $11,200
An independent mechanic thinks it’s valve train %100.
Called the parts dealer and they gave me a different set of part numbers.
5047896AD intake
68245463AA Exhaust
He said they don’t make a kit and he agreed that the price is out of this world at roughly $1200.
anyone have better luck finding a kit online?
Which valve train repair kit should I be buying for my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon.
I found:
5184332AA
5184296AH
$237.06
amazon has the same kit for $117 but in the description it says it’s not for the VVT (variable valve train).
Dealership said it was a “lower engine noise”.
I’d agree that it’s not on the top of the motor and it doesn’t make the noise until I hit about 2500 ramps. Sometimes it’s more noticeable than others.
to me it sounds like an exhaust leak tick or maybe something like an oil pump tick.
I’m...
Got the dealership invoice.
“ Confirmed noise at 2500 rpm’s and up. Noise is not coming from the top of the engine but the lower end”
“Regardless of exact source of noise, it will not be repairable and requires a new motor” $11,200.
I know they don’t fix broken things and only replace parts...
I’m still waiting on a ride to the dealership to get my truck. I’m sure the person behind the counter will have a real detailed explanation for me…. Hopefully a competent mechanic will explain.
As far as the oil goes… it’s never burnt any oil, I’ve always done the oil changes myself (I’ve had...
After 68,000 miles my gladiators engine started having a ticking noise. Sounded more like an exhaust leak to me. I had to wait almost 2 months to get it into the dealership. I got the phone call today from them telling me that the noise is from the bottom end of the engine and I’d need a new...
What brand aux battery are people using?
I figured that if the factory battery can’t last more than three years there must be a better brand. Thoughts/ experience?
Thanks
Anyone move their outside temperature sensor?
I plow in the winter and my blade guards the sensor causing it to read high do to engine temp.
i don’t really care about having an accurate ext temp gauge other than the fact that is messes up my cabin heater temp too. So if you have relocated...
I believe I have the same problem when I use my winch. I have my winch wired to a solenoid and then wired to the battery. After each use my ESS stops working until I replace the pcr that’s mounted to the battery. Not sure how to avoid this from happening.
Could this be linked to a TIPM Power Distribution Center problem. (Fuse box).
just an uneducated guess.
Sucks this is happening. Interested in the cause.
I have the steel rack. I took the 4 brackets an added 3” of height to all of them. Now the cover rolls up perfectly under the cross bars. I’m sure I compromised some engineering but they are definitely strong enough for my RTT.
I took my 2020 JTR in for the same issue. Wasn’t that loud when I first bought it. Dealership said it was normal. They said they compared it to a new Gladiator on the lot and it sounded the same. I’m not convinced it should sound like that.
