  1. Finally! Clutch recall “fix”

I've been waiting quite awhile for a real fix, and once the replacement came online I figured this is as close as it would get, so I scheduled the service. The morning I showed up though I was told by local dealer that flashing the computer with the latest update was required, and unfortunately...
  2. is it a rubicon without the rubicon sticker across the hood?

    I did - I just prefer a cleaner look....
  3. BRIGHT WHITE Gladiator JT Club

Right proper color combination Sir šŸ‘
  4. Gladiator Expedition Rigs

Not too bad to pull them out actually, just a tad awkward - worst part is finding a place to store them... I started with passenger side removed for fridge/freezer (I made a simple plywood platform that bolts in the seat mounts that the fridge ties down too). Plenty of room for an adult...
  5. Bed cap ideas

Don’t sell yourself short, nothing magic about metal fab, just patience, practice, and desire… hell only reason I ever wanted to learn how to weld was to make Jeep parts for my old CJ5… back then the aftermarket was primarily focused on all the ā€˜new’ Jeeps… the CJ7 and YJ’s! ? Seriously...
  6. Bed cap ideas

Thank you! I was really close to getting an industrial style cap, but I had this vision I couldn’t shake. I really dig the way yours looks and functions ?
  7. Bed cap ideas

Not for everyone, but I always enjoyed making things. This took some time (especially teaching myself how to sew!), and is still a work in progress, but it works fantastic and was considerably cheaper than anything on the market comparably equipped (plus I think it looks cool - I know...
  8. Camping with your Gladiator

Built a camper before taking a road trip to Texas in April for my son’s wedding, stayed outside of Telluride, CO and the salt flats between Utah and Nevada on the way back; Telluride was cold - in the teens, Planar diesel heater worth its weight in gold! Last pic is Northern CA once we got...
  9. Gladiator Expedition Rigs

Got them from Reid Tool Supply https://www.reidsupply.com/en-us/p/pull-handles-assemblies/duh-65
  10. Gladiator Expedition Rigs

Thank you! The camper base is made from mild steel, side doors and trays are made of 1/8 5052 aluminum, I had the sheets sheared at 100ā€, and the long edges of each bent up 3ā€. Overall platform is 54ā€ x 100ā€. I used the drop to cut and weld the end caps, then 1ā€ z flashing welded around the...
  11. Gladiator Expedition Rigs

Hit those cut edges on the acrylic with a quick pass of a propane or mapp torch; it’ll smooth all the roughness and look like clear glass when done ? Love watching your progress, looking great, so satisfying building it yourself if’n you have the patience! Just doing final fit up of my tent...
  12. New Engine Needed at 42k miles!?!?!

Well, for what it’s worth, mine has a touch over 33k on it - has made that noise since new - and still runs really good. I tend to shrug it off when it happens now and just ease the throttle/downshift; might not be perfect but it’s worked this far… ?ā€ā™‚ļø
  13. New Engine Needed at 42k miles!?!?!

You ever figure this out? My 6speed has been making exact same sound, usually during light throttle/3-4k rpm while pulling a hill - happened in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Outside temps and engine temp have no impact, if I accelerate it gets louder, deceleration makes it quieter, downshifting to higher...
  14. Gladiators and Camper Pictures

You won’t even know it’s there - literally… it’s only like 300ish pounds; no issues on the road at all. All in all, a pretty cool little setup.
  15. Gladiators and Camper Pictures

It’s a little motorcycle camper actually, well that’s what my Dad used it for - wanted to get my wife back into camping, so decided to go the glamping route (she was NOT impressed with our last jeep camping trip on the Rubicon 18 years ago…) So, borrowed this little gem, shot the coast for some...
  16. BRIGHT WHITE Gladiator JT Club

Homemade; will do a thread when complete - working on tent fabric now (cutting in windows), then it’s wiring solar and plumbing heater/water/propane
  17. Gladiators and Camper Pictures
