Yea for me it was Sandy here in NJ that triggered my lizard brain.
I still don’t store food and water like a dolt but those were fine minus bread, but we never eat bread. The lines for gas were crazy during Sandy.
but storing gas sounds dangerous is not well maintained. I’d use it not let it...
Finally justified getting a little generator to top off the battery camping and now feel more secure about home backup. I wish I could tap my home heat off my battery too but I have a diesel heater. I want to get a window adapter so if the power goes out we can huddle in the master bedroom with...
Don't get a Roofnest Awning while you're at it.
My zipper ripped.
Wimpy little teeth on the zipper track.
Now I've got a really expensive flag with wires for the lights hanging out probably corroding...
I much prefer the portable batteries for my camping needs if that's what you're interested in using it for.
They've got everything in one package.
I'm running my exterior lights off of mine that are on my bed rack. I wan to add some USB lights for inside my softopper and drawers.
My awning...
Soft top... I take what I can get. The doors are too much work. It rains too much here. The Gladiator's top is so easy to open. If it's hot and the sun's not going to cook me (evening) throw 'er open. Closes in a second or two.
There's a JK angry grille in my crawl space. I don't even want to give it away because it doesn't deserve to see the light of day... I found out I just wanted a black grille was all...
Primarily it's for camping and light trails. My motto is stock till it's stuck. I'd like to get a steel bumper and a winch so I can take more risks alone after maybe a training corse at an off-roading park. I tow that trailer in the first shot as our basecamp and I sleep in the tent if I'm...
Yea it's the little things. My Cherokee I smashed the front end and never repaired the AC, then my JKU I inherited from my wife after she became perganant, the AC was acceptable but the heat wouldn't come out the driver side floor. It's nice having a new vehicle with so many creature comforts...
I'm sure it will get shot down with fire but this is why I have a wireless carplay adapter and a magsafe charger on the dash, cables drive me nuts solely based on I'm always replacing them, not that I mind plugging my phone in. There's always lint in the port, this avoids all that.
The trade...
If you do the whole rack and RTT thing the Inspired overland tent is very light. I'm 5'7" and my toes touch the angled point at the end though is my biggest complaint. I leave my bedding in there, it's a PVC zipped side which is nice and light.
Bout time. I always wanted a Dakota, but they were all rusty by the time I was a big boy.
My neighbor across the street has one and it tickticktick's up the street every day.
I wish more SUV's had extra wiring that ran from the engine bay to the roof rack as well as the cargo area to the roof rack so you could wire either a dual battery system to lights up there or a portable battery like a Jackery to your lighting system or a rooftop tent so you could charge your...
For now I go until I get stuck and too embarrassed.
I want to get a winch, so if that can't unstuck me either then I guess it's time.
If the tires wear down to nubbins then I suppose I'd get something a bit better, but Jeeps are awesome as they are, especially if you specify the black wheels. I...
But when are they going to have an app connected tazer is my real question? lol. I asked them and I got the eh we don't care vibe. I really want to get a tazer but I can't beleive you still have to do it all through the dash, and mine's black and white...
