SnugTop used to be a great shell till they moved to Mexico and now they are, sub par at best. I have one on my Ram 2500 and just did the Mojave road with no issues. They don't make a JT shell. I think that ARE is the top JT fiberglass shell maker. IMO it looks the best. I would like to see...
I was never a fan of black wheels. If I do wheels on the JT they will be Method Double Standard in Machine finish. But the red rims are catching my eye.
I bought a new JTR loaded and I will be doing some mods to it,,,, BECAUSE,,, I am going to run out of time before I run out of money. No wife, no kids, don't drink or gamble. It's not like I am blowing money I don't have.
TF says that with less than 2 inch lift the factory Rubicon shocks can be used without a shock extension. For my lift I want front 1.5 springs and a rear 1 inch spacer and front adj lower CAs to add some caster. Would also install the MC poly bumpstops. Not sure about the front track bar. I went...
I believe if the shell sets to low it could contact the bed on the rear corner due to the shell overhangs the bed a little. The shell is up on the bed so brush would probably miss it but not tree branches.
I have a white JTR with the red accents. Looking at red rims but just not sure yet. I am an old school machine finish guy. Wonder how the red holds up to sun and summer heat. I just don't want to look like a guy with a mid life crisis in full bloom. Tomorrow I get my 315-70-17 BFG KO2s. Seems...
Bumpstop extensions are for 2 things. Keep tires from ripping the fenders and protect the shocks from being over compressed. If everything works before the spacers then other than over extending the shocks, it should work without bumpstop spacers.
So if you don't need the shock extenders you also don't need the bump stop spacer?? That would give you an extra 1 1/2 inch of compression travel. How much shock extension is left with the spacers in?
Really thinking of going with the ARE CX line of camper shell. Questions,,, Now they have a new one piece glass rear window in the Evo line. Anyone got it? The CX Classic line has a alu framed rear window with optional dual locking handles. Just trying to get an order decided as there is a 14...
Mods are worth very little at the time of resale. You do them for you. If mods make you happy, do them. But they don't add a lot of value. If you have the $$$ and want a new JT then do it but remember that mods cost more now and can take a while.
I had a 14 JKUR that I did a lot of suspension on. 3 different sets of springs and shocks. Lifted it 4 inches, to much. IMO, Falcon and Bilstein is digressive and stiff. The higher you go the stiffer it gets due to CA angles. At 3 inches the rules change and the $$$ flow. Keeping a nice factory...
Any lifting is the last thing. Bumpers and winch, maybe. Rocker sliders, AEV camper shell. I can easily see $7500 going without a fancy lift. But I know that the 315-70-17 KO2s will be the best tires for me.
People have to be able to afford to drive and travel. There will be gas available for them at a price they can afford. There will be more EV's for those that want them so they can save the planet. When I can go 250 miles off road without a re charge, maybe I'll do it. There is still lots of...
