You might also be holding it in the wrong place. It's been a while since I did mine, but I did it a few times switching out harnesses. It was easy each time.

People buy the jk version to get the clamp style mount.
I think you can swap it out, but people have stripped the bolt because of how tight it is. And manybe reversed threaded as well.

I had the diamondback and switched to the revolver x4s. It's a lot quicker to use the full bed when needed.
I had to add rails to the diamondback, but the x4s already had them.
Depends on case usage really.
If you guys come out with a refresh at some point, I'd like to see the bed cap rails moved outboard an inch or two. They stick over the bed rails and using the cleats not as usable depending on the angle of tie down
And somehow, redesign the mechanisms to get those 'wings' from poking out of...
