I just worded my question poorly. A soft tonneau I'm guessing takes up way less space in the bed when rolled up vs this hard tri-fold. Besides it being much harder to break in is there any other reason to get a hard tri-fold vs soft tonneau that rolls up?
This is more of a general question about hard tri-fold covers, but wouldn't those get in the way more of a soft top that rolls up? Is that just what you live with for more security?
Yes and No. I believe if the steps are mounted in the same way as the rock rails then you'd have to replace the rails with the steps. I have seen some steps, can't remember which post they were in, that can be added while keeping the rails on. They used different mounting points.

It's held up decently and have used it for the past couple years.
I like the hammock version of these types because my dog is clumsy and would have fallen onto the floor numerous times if the front...
I use a hammock style cover in the rear seat of my JKU. it also has a zipper along the middle on the side that connects to the front head rests. This allows you to fold down one side and keep the other setup for the dog. For keeping my pup secure I just use a leash wrapped around the middle roll...
Saw a Silver Gladiator near Madison WI yesterday. There's a sport with a soft top at my local dealer that I keep on forgetting to check out. I'll stop in tonight to finally get a better look at one.
Sounds like my job. Was told last October that I'd be getting a promotion sooner rather than later. Still don't have that promotion so my understanding of the term sooner must be wrong.
Always a lemon no matter what type of engine/vehicle. Hopefully your new engine is being replaced under warranty!
I had a Golf TDI for 2 years before I sold it back to them because of the whole #dieselgate issue. In those two years I had to take it back to the dealership 4 times to get things...
A lot of times if you're changing your own oil it's to cover your ass to prove you used the correct oil/filter. Of course this is only if you are still within warranty. My JKU lease doesn't specifically say anything about having a dealer change my oil so I do it myself. I've only owned cars...
Can't take all the credit. @DKW came up with how to re-purpose the Harken Hoist I currently use for my JKU.

A co-workers mom has a push start in her car. Where she keeps her keys just inside the garage door is apparently close enough to allow her to start her vehicle. She drove to work and could leave for lunch because her keys were still at home. co-worker had to drive her home to get her keys.
That's basically how I'm looking at it now. I have a few loans to pay off and have been waiting for a promotion at work. Once those two loans are paid off and I receive that promotion I'll be able to save up a good down payment. I love driving my Jeep in the summer, but also would like a truck...
