You’re right about the tongue weight. We ended up putting most of our gear, luggage and cooler in the back of the TJ to help even out the weight. ( No back seat in TJ)

I pulled my TJ with my JT Max Tow 400 miles round trip, about 6700lbs in all, and averaged 11.5 mpgs in my non-diesel. Not saying I was in 8th gear much of the way but 7th still got me decent mpg there and back. Mix of flat interstate and Ozarks in Northwest Arkansas.
