This has always been one of those hard to imagine the benefit mods to me, but I've always been curious because of the avid fans. Washers might be a cheap way to give it a try.
Seat Jackers recommends the 0.75" for inseams of 28-34", and 1.25" for 36-38". And the Slammers for those over 6'2"...
@raypla and @bkeast17 or anyone with access to these bumper parts soon.
Since you'll be installing the bumper or winch soon, could you do me a huge favor?
I'd really like to know why this combo doesn't fit for me like it has others, and you're in a rare position to possibly help measure...
Did anyone not switch out the MP tow hooks for their oem ones? And if so, have you used them for heavy recovery pulls and snatches?
I bought a similar bumper and need a spacer, but that will cut me low on threads with the oem hooks. Someone relatively local is selling the MP hooks and they look...
Let us know how it goes. If it's a success, you'll be at least the 4th with the exact same combo fitting.
If you've already got the winch plate in, you could size it up. But I could also tell you that my rear most winch holes are 3/8" forward of the most forward point of the grille at the...
Then there won't be a similar problem. No winch means no winch plate, which means no spacing or bending issues.
You may need to trim the bumper and/or Mojave skid plate to have them fit. Or get a rubi skid (the one that goes with the metal bumper).
As for the hooks, I like orange and use them...
I ordered one too, but haven't told my saga yet until I get it all buttoned up. The paint seemed overall fine to me, but I hit some edges where I could see metal on interior parts. Unlike the MP Concepts one, which apparently has such a bad coat that lightly dragging a finger nail leaves a mark...
You've got a Rubicon with 4.10s, you don't need to regear for 35s (typically 4.10-4.56). If you want 37s, most get 4.88, some stay on 4.10, some go further to 5.13. I don't hear of anyone really regearing to 4.56 for 35s, too small of a jump to bother (extra weight, towing withstanding).
You...
If it's a hard top, my non-negotiable must is a soft top. Going topless in 5 seconds makes the Jeep experience a daily joy.
After that, heavy duty rock sliders or soft tonneau.
And a couple scratches to get that out of the way and start having fun.
Anyone want to swap your '24 or newer Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator grille for my '23 Gladiator grille? As you may know, they changed designs in '24 and I would like that style.
Must include the front camera design (not swapping cameras), and be in Hydro Blue. May consider Willys black style if hydro...
I've been seeing XR wheels on marketplace on occasion. Other than the lift, did you have to do anything to make them work without rubbing at all, at full articulation and disconnect too?
How's the pokev outside the fenders?
Fyi for your accuracy, the pictures you're using show a Rubicon, which have higher fenders than yours.
For 35s, 2" is enough as long as you like it.
As for this 4 link system, I sometimes feel like we're all driving different trucks because I don't have any highway complaints. Rutted offroad...
Looks like a beast!
Good to hear. I don't want to lose the ability to gun it up a tall dune or dirt hill, so that was really my main hesitancy. Going slow up steep hills or other offroad scenarios I wouldn't be so worried about.
I live in relatively flat Michigan, so highway isn't bad...
On your trip to Moab, did you happen to go through CO or other mountainous roads to see how your 37s felt? Because on my trip, stock 33", I could definitely see why someone in CO wouldn't want 37s without a regear.
I see these on marketplace sometimes, usually overpriced for a takeoff. Other than a lift, did you do anything to make them work without rubbing at all, at full articulation and disconnect too?
I agree, this would be even better in 8+. However, don't they call 12.5" tires on 7.5" rims the "poorman's beadlock" for a reason? It's less likely to debead in aired down scenarios, crawling scenarios. Not as good in cornering debeads, and overall wear and performance though.
I had asked that, and it was verified by the three below that it does indeed work that way. At least for the rear frame side skid that is.
The front frame side isn't fully boxed. I think the axle side ones match the problem you describe, but have shims to take up some of the slack. Owners can...
Is it 8.8 perhaps?
If so, that's metric Class 8.8. Class 10.9 would be the better choice. Or Grade 8 if using SAE bolts.
Then again, they have their purpose and there's 4 of them, so pretty strong. Maybe find what other tow kits use.
As for the hooks themselves, Idk.
I never really looked at the fronts. I see shims, but not a spacer that would allow the force to apply to the control-arm/ mount directly.
@Pliny
For the rear frame side, it comes with a barrel spacer. I assumed this was to allow the actual bolting force to impact the mount/arm, and not just...
