  1. I did a search, couldn't find this information, winch on a stock Rubicon plastic bumper can it be done?

Howdy Jim, My screen name, "Mr Cob" was awarded to me over 20 years ago because of an internet exchange on a sport bike forum. After a spirited exchange a fellow forum member replied with "OK your right but you sure are a cob." Being new to all things computer related, I had no idea what many...
  2. Post your Gladiator takeoffs here!

WANTED, stock Gladiator Rubicon steel bumper. I have a brand new plastic one if anyone is interested. Dave
  3. Warn Winch VR10s install, anyone done one?

Howdy Jim, I just want to confirm that you used a STOCK PLASTIC RUBICON bumper to do this winch mount. You say you used "Go Rhino 332000T Rockline Textured Black Fairlead Mount Plate (to take up some space between the winch and the plastic bumper)," You also said, "I had to cut up the plastic...

  7. I did a search, couldn't find this information, winch on a stock Rubicon plastic bumper can it be done?

Howdy John, I agree, mounting on top of the bumper is going to drastically reduce air flow to your cooling system, as I intend to tow my SxS occasionally, after giving it considerable thought I don't think the RockHard winch mount would work for me. Dave
  8. I did a search, couldn't find this information, winch on a stock Rubicon plastic bumper can it be done?

Howdy Jim, Being an old retired fart, if I want to do anything I usually have to do it alone or with some other old gimped up guy. I am long past the days when I would purposely go out to see how far I could go before submitting to the "cable". That said 60 years of off roading on dirt bikes...

  10. I did a search, couldn't find this information, winch on a stock Rubicon plastic bumper can it be done?

Howdy Paul, That's a good deal, problem it's in New York, I am on the other side of the country in Washington, shipping would be a deal killer but I did contact the seller to see if he would ship and for how much. Thanks for your reply. Dave

Howdy Bryan, I love this forum, I feel like an idiot sometimes asking the questions I have but the forum members always come through. I have just installed the Patriot rock sliders from Rock Hard and think they are great. Dave

  13. I did a search, couldn't find this information, winch on a stock Rubicon plastic bumper can it be done?

Howdy All, Sorry if this is one of those things that has been beaten to death but my internet skills are Legendary only because of how BAD they are. I know the winch is NOT bolted to the actual bumper but in the case of the Gladiator it is bolted to a winch plate which is bolted to the frame...
  14. Quadratech, aluminum skid plates, are they good enough for LIGHT duty off roading?

Howdy bd100, I read that and talked to the folks at M.O.R.E., you don't need the lift unless your doing extreme wheeling, I don't think that will apply to me and my planned use. Dave
  15. Quadratech, aluminum skid plates, are they good enough for LIGHT duty off roading?

Howdy All, Update to the thread and what I have decided and done. As a metal fabriator and welder for many years, I like steel, yes I know its heavy but it will take a hit and with a big enough Hammer you can pound it out and make it serviceable again, and again................ Thanks for...
  16. Quadratech, aluminum skid plates, are they good enough for LIGHT duty off roading?

Howdy Patrick, Thanks for your reply. I have looked at those skids and think they would serve my purpose but I would "assume" the shipping from Israel, would kill the good deal price, I may be wrong. The only thing I don't like about these parts is the GAP between the rear of the...
  17. Quadratech, aluminum skid plates, are they good enough for LIGHT duty off roading?

Howdy ryanlsmith, Thanks for your reply. I have done enough off roading in the past 60 years of beating the HELL out of Jeeps to know that even on logging roads it's only a matter of time before a rock, rut or tree branch will slam a hole in the very exposed transmission oil pan or tear those...
  18. Quadratech, aluminum skid plates, are they good enough for LIGHT duty off roading?

Howdy All, I need something to protect the drive train of my JT but I do NOT plan to abuse this Jeep. Forest service roads, and easy off road is all I plan to do with this Jeep. I have spent days researching skid plates, looked at all the major brands, watched the videos, read threads on this...
  19. Snazzberry Gladiator JT club

Howdy All, Just now found this sub forum, I picked up my new 2021 SnazzRubi, a couple of weeks ago. Living in the Great Nor-Wet, I am hoping for a sunny day sometime in the future so I can see what the color really looks like. Dave
