Howdy Bleda2002,
Yes, I see how it's supposed to fit, I have looked at every photo I can find but they give no dimensions. What I need is for someone to confirm that Warn part number 101255 winch mounting plate, will fit and work with the stock steel winch ready bumper.
Looking at MY Jeep...
Howdy Jack,
I have watched every video I can find, and have not found one that called out a part number or used a winch mount looks like the one I was sold, that according to Warn will work. I'll look and see if I can find the video your talking about.
Dave
Howdy Mark,
Thanks for your reply, did you do the work or do you know the part numbers of the parts that were used? I am trying to CONFIRM the Warn part number #101255 winch mounting plate, will work with the stock steel Rubicon bumper. I need to confirm part numbers before dropping another...
Howdy Jeepmonster,
Thanks for your reply. What did you use for a winch mounting plate, if it was a Warn product was it part number #101255 ?
I don't know of anyone nearby that has the stock factory winch ready bumper so I have nothing to take measurements off from. Looking at photos, the...
Howdy Bleda2002,
I know the fairlead mounts outside the bumper, look at my photos and you will see that the WINCH PLATE itself sits outside and past the front of the bumper by a bit over an inch.
Dave
Howdy All,
Howdy All, to save reading the entire thread, it took a while but my question has been answered, YES this winch plate will work with the factory steel winch ready bumper. THANKS for the help.
I have already bought and installed onto my Gladiator the Warn 12,000 pound winch AND Warn...
Howdy Ralph,
Thanks for getting back to me. I already have the Warn winch mounting plate and the Warn 12,000 pound winch mounted on my Jeep. I had to cut a massive hole in the front of the plastic bumper for the Warn mounting plate to stick through. This made the stock plastic bumper pretty...
Howdy @RalphTuttle,
When you mounted your winch, did you use the winch mounting plate supplied with your new bumper OR did you use the "Warn 101255" winch mounting plate that is supposed to fit on the stock steel bumper? I already have the "Warn" winch plate mounted, I don't want to buy a...
Howdy @sarguy1941,
Did you use Warn part number "101255" winch mounting plate with your knock off steel bumper?
If you did, were there ANY problems mounting the bumper, did the bumper clear the winch mount without ANY modifications?
I tried using the stock Rubicon plastic bumper with the Warn...
Howdy Jack,
If you don't plan at some point to get a stock steel winch ready bumper, your on the right track. I do eventually want the stock steel winch ready bumper I just don't want to pay an arm and half a leg for it. For years as I have made mods to my vehicles I have documented the...
Howdy All,
Now comes the most time consuming and tedious part of the job, modifying the plastic bumper so that it will fit. You will notice as I start cutting on the bumper I use a marker to set the cut lines and cut out a little bit at a time. I wanted to save as much of the metal inner...
Howdy All,
Now we move on to mounting the winch.
The first thing you do is place the winch mounting SQUARE nuts into the base of the winch, I used a small piece of scotch tape to seal the end of the nut slot so the nuts didn't drop out while moving everything around.
Carefully set the...
Howdy All,
ASSUMPTIONS, will bite you in the ass every freaking time you make them. Case in point, I used the Warn heavy duty winch mounting plate as it is supposed to work with the OEM Steel Rubicon bumper. I ASSUMED that the plastic bumper and the steel bumper had the same external...
Howdy Chris,
BEFORE you order parts, you may want to read the rest of my install. Using the Warn winch plate works but it makes the stock plastic bumper pretty worthless, you have to take so much material out of it it's not much more then a fog light holder and a weak one at that. I am...
Howdy All,
Thanks for the replies. I am going with the Warn 12,000 winch with S rope and the Warn winch plate. As I am going to be using the plastic bumper and know that I am going to have to take some of the steel out of it I went with the heavier Warn winch plate as it looked to be very...
Howdy All,
I have read through threads that I thought might give me an answer to this question but haven't found the information I am looking for.
I have the Rubicon, version of the Gladiator. I don't want to actually lift the Jeep, I don't want to use larger tires, I will do occasional...
Howdy All,
WARNING, if you are going to do this, you might NOT want to use the heavy duty Warn winch plate as I did. You have to remove so much material it ends up being nothing but a fog light holder and a weak one at that. Read and look at the photos in the second installment of this...
Howdy Darrell,
As a guy once said, "I feel your pain", I go through this every time I have to deal with the VA, concerning ANYTHING especially the so called health care system.
Dave
Howdy Darrell,
That, is exactly the situation I am concerned about, even on a decent forest service road, $hit can and WILL HAPPEN. Thanks for your post.
Dave
Howdy Jim,
Thanks for your reply, it helped but I am still confused, no need for alarm this is my normal state.
Instead of using all the fairlead pieces, couldn't a person just make one spacer that goes between the winch mount and the inside of the plastic bumper?
I guess until a person...
