I ordered mine from an RSI dealer 1/14 and have yet to hear anything. I actually have had some issues getting them to send an invoice to my dealership. Just got word they are sending it today so hopefully that means some movement on the order.
Did they require payment when you placed your order...
So I did get my speedometer calibrated using the AEV procal snap which worked pretty good but installing the wiring harness was a pain. I just didn't want to risk using a tazer and screwing things up and voiding my warranty. AEV does a lot of work for jeep and even does some of the parts in...
Not sure if this is a coincidence or not but I just used the AEV Procal Snap to calibrate my speedometer and change the tmps threshold. Since then, I have noticed on two occasions my backup camera won't turn on if I put it in reverse. The camera and radio are working properly when I hit the on...
I was planning to go the same route with mopar and at my local dealership. I would assume since it's mopar and done by the dealer it would still be covered under warranty. Have you priced it or talked with the dealer about warranty issues?
That makes sense if all external conditions are equal all the time but in most of the country that's just not possible, especially in WV everything is up or downhill lol
Thanks for that info, I will take a look next time I take it for a spin, but it sounds like 4.88s are the way to go for me. I don't mind downshifting for some power. Based on some of the calculations and research I've done the 4.88s will put me a few hundred rpms above where stock would be...
The wheels are AEV Salta for the JK I loved the simple look and no fitment issues. The only difference from these vs the ones designed for the JL and JT is roughly 1/2 more offset. From my research they are only 9 lbs heavier than the stock grey rubicon wheels. The tires on the other hand are...
Did you ever regear to 4:88s? I have the same setup as you and I am contemplating going with 4:88s but would like some feedback to see if its worth the money.
That's what I figured with the speedometer, but after driving it again last night I think eventually I will regear to 4.88s. I think if you live somewhere flat you'll be fine with 37s and 4.10s but I seem to always be either lugging it around or downshifting and cruising at 2800 rpm. If I do...
I see where your coming from and it would make a difference if you shifted based on speed alone. I have been primarily using the tach and engine noise to dictate shifting and the speed difference is quite easy to calculate fast. I'm finding I am off +7 in the 70s, +5 in the 50s, +4 in the 40s...
The shop forgot to recalibrate the speedometer before I picked it up, I plan to schedule it this week. From my understanding with a manual transmission this will only change the displayed speed to be accurate nothing with how it drives or operates is that correct?
I need to do some more research on 4:88 vs 5:13 I don't want to go too deep and lose the overdrive in 5/6 gears. I wasn't disappointed with the gearing on the stock wheels. And don't get me wrong it's not bad with 4:10s and 37s but in the hills of WV trying to stay 70-75mph is difficult.
It was never fast to begin with but its a little slower to pick up speed. I think my main problem was not staying in the gears a little longer. Just seems like I'm over reving the engine when its above 3000 rmp.
Yeah I went with 37x12.5x17 and I did loose a bit if torque but surprisingly its not bad. Around town and highway driving its liveable, interstate driving in the hills of WV it sucks. 6th is useless unless your downhill and coasting, 5th has no power to maintain speeds up hill so 4:88 gears are...
I need some help figuring out the best shift points. This is my first manual transmission vehicle and love it! I drove it stock Rubicon 4.10s with the standard 33in Wildpeak MTs over 2k miles, drove great and got acquainted with it. Just picked it up last week with the mopar lift and 37...
Thanks that helps! Dang that still isn't much room, the decked system is nice but it takes up almost the whole bed. I just wish the bed was a bit deeper.
How hard is it to remove the RSI smartcap if I needed to haul something large, is it manageable with one person?
Thanks! That was about how much I calculated and looks really good! I was worried they would stick out too far and destroy the side of the jeep. Your only the 3rd one I have seen with these rims and I have scoured the internet for months. Makes me feel alot better about my choice!
Those look great! I am having the same rims put on this week with 37x12.5 cooper sst pros on my rubicon with mopar lift. Curious as to how far they stick out from the fenders and if you have any picks? Also are you happy with your rokblokz?
