Yes I have. In fact my whole radio has been replaced four times in less than three years. I was running a 64G thumb drive with about 24G of music with no issues until one day the system wigged out, which it did at least once a week, while I was listening to music from the thumb drive. Got the...
Interesting, I have not thought of doing that. You had not issues with the cowl or clearance underneath? I like the idea as the flatter Sport hood would allow for a solar panel and snorkel install.
'21 Mojave with almost 60k on it and I have had zero battery issues and I have a Warn Zeon10 and auxiliary lights which I run a lot and an ARB Zero fridge which is on all the time. I also have a Tazer Mini and the auto stop/start is disabled.
Check the dynamic versus static weight rating. You may find that dynamic, while moving will be about half that of the weight rating when the vehicle is stopped. So if dynamic is 300lbs, and your RTT only weighs 180lbs you'll be fine. Add two adults and gear, say 400lbs, your static load only...
Weight consideration is why I used a Rock Hard Aluminum bumper front and rear and I have a Warn Zeon10 winch up front and no issues with suspension sag or bottoming out the hydraulic bump stops...since I use my winch mostly for trail maintenance projects I stayed with steel cable as synthetic...
Ironically, I had a TPMS issue right after installing an AEV lift on my '21 Mojave last Fall and upgrading to 35" tires. Took a while to sort it out, but as already mentioned it was dead TPMS batteries all along and just a coincidence that they died at that point.
I carry four in the back of the JT and use them mostly when recovering other people out of the snow. I also have a winch, tow straps and a Bubba Rope, but on a lot of new cars there aren't many good places to hook a strap too and the boards often is all I need. The only time I have used them for...
Rock Hard! I have had the mid-width aluminum on my Mojave for three years now and itnis great. Includes a solid skid plate to protect the shock reservoirs, made in the USA and only weighs 34lbs.
We had M151A1's when I first joined before we switched to the HMMWV, all aluminum and made by Ford and AM General so never really a Jeep even though we all called them Jeeps ?
Never having been in an accident I have no first hand knowledge, but I also run a Rock Hard front aluminum mid-width which has been on the JT since I bought it and it has stood up great and I use my winch a lot.
Great story, thanks for sharing...I learned to drive on my neighbors Navy Surplus M38A1 and have been driving Jeeps ever since. I retired in 2014 after 36+ years in the Army and I can't imagine driving anything else.
