I am in Moab 2-3 times a year and one trip is usually a club run and we always camped northwest of town, for free, but sadly that area was closed recently by the Bureau of Land Management. Several other dispersed "free" camping areas have also been closed as well, so free camping is becoming...
I second Sun Country in town. Decent size RV lots, trees for shade, close walking distance to restaurants, etc. Which after a day on the trails it is good to get out and stretch your legs.
Well you could always call the Ranger District? I don't use OnX, but Trails Off Road and FunTrex both show it as closed. I shared the official and free, Colorado Parks and Wildlife tool for you and FYI, an open gate doesn't mean the Trail is open.
When I talked to the Jeep folks in Moab at EJS, part of the reason for the new grille in the '24 Jl/JT is to accommodate the need for better cooling for the 3.0l twin turbo Hurricane engines which we will see a version of in the 3rd Qtr of 2025 along with a Hybrid option 4xE package in the...
Interesting, I may have to investigate this further. On a recent trip, Colorado Springs to Grand Junction I saw 20.1 mpg driving US50 out and 17.6 mpg driving I70 back. The main difference is speed limit and elevation, but I ran 87 octane vs 85 which is considered regular here. '21 Mojave with...
I recall reading that that the rear axle in the 2024's is now a full float, they had one on display at EJS...so if you're buying new that is one upside ?
Talking to a Jeep Engineer at EJS, 3rd Qtr of 2025 we will see new powplants for the JL and JT. A version of the 3.0l Hurricane twin turbo straight 6-cyl and a Hybrid.
I basically have the same plan. Added the AEV Mojave spacer lift and now running 35" Falkens AT3 but not towing yet, still looking for a trailer and then I'll regesr to 4.88 and add a front locker
Talking to a Jeep Engineer yesterday at the Jeep display at EJS we will see the 3.0l Hurricane in the JL/JT along with expanded 4xE options in the 3rd Qtr of 2025 so they some time to work out the kinks before I need to replace my Mojave in 2026. I also have an '02 TJ that I will never sell for...
For recovery gear I carry 4 MaxTrax recovery boards, I have a Warn Zeon10 winch on the front bumper, an ARB twin compressor under the front passenger seat, Hi-Lift jack, several tow straps, Bubba Rope, soft shackles, D Ring shackles, snatch block, tree saver, tire plug kit, side wall patch kit...
I agree that AEV is the way to go for a Mojave lift and they also offer a different rear spring if you're going to carry a lot of weight or tow with your Mojave as well.
You may want to consider going aluminum and saving some weight. I have Rock Hard front and back and I have no issues with hitting the bump stops on my Mojave.
Not knowing what a "po go" or a "G out" are, I have a '21 Mojave with an AEV lift and 35" tires. Using the AEV relocation brackets I'm still using the OEM Fox 2.5" remote reservoir shocks on all four corners and I have no issues. Who makes the Mopar lift?
