Interesting. I scoured the internet trying to find out if some gears are just noisy and yukon popped up here and there. I don't doubt it, but this is the first time I've done this and I think its far more likely I screw up somewhere. But now that I've rebuild the rear 3 times maybe not...
and I just realized maybe Yukon has a different spec for their gears than oem?
I ask because yukon does not have the m220 listed in their manual, just dana 44.
I should mention backlash is set to .003" per the spec listed here:

But now I am seeing 5 to 8 mil listed here:

About 200 miles ago I regeared to 4.88s on my JTSD...which is now giving me PTSD.
I don't think I set the pinion depth close enough initially, as the sound appeared within 50 miles or so. I swapped the inner and outter pinion bearings for another brand new set chasing the issue, but that...
Metalcloak is a 10/10 company absolutely. They will borderline harass you with positive customer service. They will not let you be displeased. Its the only sticker I've put on my jeep.
wow that's exactly the attitude I encountered. There was no attempt to resolve the issue what so ever. Just do charge back. Civil court is not going to gaf about their policies. I'm at that level with them; they told me there's going to be a delay in refund because they have to get the...
Yes I needed to fix an inner pinion bearing before towing a camper so this is delaying what was supposed to be a 4th of july campout. Luckily I pieced together another order from quadratec but hopefully they're not doing the same thing.
I ordered a pinion bearing kit last weekend that was supposed to show up today and was in stock at time of order. The part still shows in stock. I called them to ask why the status is processing still and THEN they informed me it will not ship until august...and that the parts are drop shipped...
Trust me I'd prefer the lasfit route but I can't get over $500 for switches. Aren't the oem panels far cheaper? I need a tazer for programming gear ratios regardless so I don't mind that.
I plan on installing the locker switch from the rubicon in my dash for an oem look. I am hoping I can program the ecu to use it by way of tazer programming. I realize that I need a special cable to convert from the canbus of the jeep to a solenoid control. I believe Z auto sells that as well.
Ah so if I regear to 4.88s on 37s that might be the cause?? Because that's what I did lol.
edit: oh nvm I see what you're saying. I don't have a tazer so I haven't messed with any settings at all.
I just regeared to 4.88s on my JTSD with 37s. First drive I shifted into 4lo to make sure everything was okay and this message immediately appeared. All wheel speed sensors are plugged in. The FAD is plugged in. The message does not appear in 4hi. I'm thinking this is a transfer case motor...
