Good points. I will have to test it out as you suggest. I have a Decked system inside as well, so that is another challenge, there is only about 5 inches from the top of the deck to the bottom of the doors.
I have been contemplating where to mount fuel as well. I don't like the idea of having it INSIDE my SmartCap, thinking the fumes/smell will annoy the heck out of me. Hanging on the side, have the same concern as mentioned about scraping and dealing with the weight on the doors when opening. So...
Picking up on this old thread... Is this the iDrive unit you are recommending? EVC IDRIVE THROTTLE CONTROLLER FOR JEEP GLADIATOR 2019 – ON | EVC iDRIVE THROTTLE CONTROL ?
Stop allowing Uconnect to charge for map updates, especially when they hit shortly after purchase. Seriously they should be updated automatically and without cost.

Sad but true. I just think that they are also going to start loosing customers, especially newer jeepers or fed up jeepers that are not as loyal due to the choices they are making.
FCA stopped listening to Jeep owners a while back IMO. They listen to mentally challenged marketing people who apparently get bonuses for raising the prices and bundling things most people don't want.
Mine is more inline with the rear bed, but forward of the "lip" on the top of the tailgate. I installed the Frontrunner rack forward a bit to accommodate the layout with my OVS 270 Awning (drivers side).
I won't argue with a lawyer (mojave lawyer) :-), but I agree with Mr. Bill's setup. Mine is pretty close to exactly as his is and I don't get any water in from rain, normal wash or pressure washing. The rear window hatch doesn't open on it's own with this setup on my 21 Mojave (snug fit as he...
My 21 JT Mojave, with 35x12.5x17 KO2's, a SmartCap & Frontrunner rack, OVS 270 awning and Decked drawer system never reaches 8th gear other than on a big downhill. I really want to get the stock 4.10 gears swapped out. To much to do, so little cash lol!
I used a pool noodle cut to proper length to fit my brackets and haven't had any issues with hanging doors messing up the rubber window seals. I only have the doors off for a few weeks to a month at a time so maybe longer term would be more impacting. I just like having my doors on more than...
Any update on possible dates for this run? I know the average time to run the Mojave trail is 3-4 days if doing the entire length and not racing to the end. I am interested in that kind of time frame considering I would probably need another day at both ends to get there and get home. :-)
Actually I have driven in every one of the lower 48, and yes some places are worse than others but the plague of bad drivers is everywhere IMO. Always arguable and certainly the uptick in some areas can be greater than others at different times so I won't stand firm, ha. I will happily join...
It has nothing to do with "yankees" or "northerners" and everything to do with idiot drivers. IMO the problem is that every state seems to think that a drivers license is a human right rather than something to be earned. At least 50% of the drivers I see on the roads should not have a license...
Seems as though options are pretty limited for the Gladiator. If you don't have a spare tire mount on your bumper or an open bed it seems the only options are bolt on the fender, door mounts or mount it on a roof rack.
I don't want something that won't let me open the tailgate, I don't want...
