I've done the European delivery option with our Volvo XC90 T8.
It was an amazing experience. Stayed at a cool hotel, got a tour of the factory, even got fed lunch. The best part was I got to pick up the truck where it was "born", and drive around Europe with it. I chase Amsterdam as my...
Get the Mojave.
I test drove the Rubi and Mojave, and TURO'd an Overland. The Mojave is the best suited premium Gladiator for me... and I'd argue most NY residents.
I live in NY too. I too plan on doing some light-camping/car-camping, nothing really to tow (though I did get the tow package)...
Well... as they say, "All good things come to those who wait." Hard to argue with that, especially looking at that Gobiutiful Gladiator! (But maybe lean in a little, can try to squeeze some floor matts or something out of it!)
How did you get it to make it line up back to you personally?
When I ordered from the dealer, I don't remember any step to track it back to me. Even when my window sticker was made available, it just says:
"For more information visit: www.jeep.com
or call 1–877–IAM–JEEP"
Just like everyone has been saying and implying... buy the vehicle based on what you will use it for 75-90% of the time. And at the end, buy on what you ultimately want, despite what anyone says.
For me, I know I'll never crawl over rocks. I'll be easily 80%+ driving at speed on NYC's...
Wow! Gorgeous! Have fun!
A dealer called me saying they had an almost exact JTM on their lot. But it was missing one critical feature... Gobi. But patience is a virtue; hopefully I'll be getting it sooner than this...
That's a good point. I ordered this Jeep back in late-June. So maybe it was still available back then. But they just built it less than 2 weeks ago if that's worthy any consideration.
Question: How did you get a "move to the front of the line code"?
When I ordered ours, ACC wasn't showing up on the dealer's system either - nor my order sheet or the build sheet. But not a biggie for me. I very rarely ever use cruise control of any kind (all my other vehicles have ACC, which I've never used.) But lo and behold, it's written right there on...
Geez... I just did the math... If I knew they were going that low back in June, I think I may have opted to buy from Gupton too.
A one-way ticket to Nashville is only $27 from NYC right now. For $8K off a $67K build, I'd fly down, and drive back over the course of a long-weekend... maybe enjoy...
Wow... didn't realize dealerships were even offering anything below sticker. Does that apply to special orders too? I wouldn't have minded popping for a plane ticket to TN and driving up with my Gobi JTM (gratuitous and obligatory mention of Gobi, as a Gobi owner of course)...
Didn't think of that. That totally makes sense.
I really should have thought of that... I actually did Volvo's European Car Delivery option a number of years ago.
I see... but are the savings worth the transport fees, or time/expense to go there to pick up????
My initial reaction is it seems like the hassle to go there and pick up, or cost of transport, might not be worth if for someone living in NY...
I can't really prove it, but I feel like Rain-X shortens the lifespan of my wiper-blades, making them very stiff/non-pliable sooner than they should.
I never put that stuff in my reservoir. Rather, I just apply it occasionally directly to my windshield with a spray-bottle and towel.
On a...
