  1. Recommended Diff Protection?

Lol. Yes I am very young... And yes I do come across obstacles, but I don't bash into them requiring me to have massive amounts of armor. If you read my post thoroughly you would have noticed I mentioned "TECHNICAL DRIVING". Technical driving is another way of saying I don't smash into...
  2. Recommended Diff Protection?

And back to the regular programing... Because I don't regularly find a bed of nails to drive over or splash through water to cause ingestation of fluids... Common sense goes a long way, or at least further than driving over nails. Tire placement and technical driving will prevent the...
  3. Does anyone know what the spring rates are on the Rubicon?

Is there a difference with the diesel springs?
  4. Am I the only dummy....

No... It is bad. People die falling down stairways and we still have them. In fact people die in vehicles every day and we still have them. Come to think about it, people die in their sleep and we still sleep!!! AND.... people die from being morons, and we still have them.....
  5. Recommended Diff Protection?

The best solution is to not hit obstacles.... I never have replaced any of my diff covers or used skid plates on them.
  6. Autotrader WTF Sightings

It's not the jeep, it's the dealer that has the issue! "Price plus $995.00 Dealer Fee, $139.95 ElectronicFiling Fee and Reconditioning Cost of $1195.00. # 1 in client service and satisfaction !"
  7. I did a thing yesterday

Nice and congratulations. Coming from a 2500 as well, takes a little getting use to the over all size and power difference if your 2500 had a 6.4.
  8. Going to Buy Again In December 2021

I have a set of Rubi wheels with TPMS and Falken AT tires, 500 mi on them and I will have the springs and shocks available if you are interested. The only issue is I am in PA, but will be traveling to Ft. Bragg NC in March. I looked at the map, based on your location it is just under 4hrs from...
  9. Anyone covert over to a flatbed yet?

I like the looks on some, but why so much crap? Guess I am a minimalist, even on long trips: Travel Light and Freeze and Night approach...
  10. anyone have any experience with these snatch blocks?

There is a good way to calculate the general load when stuck in mud, sand, and snow. Rock crawling is a bit different. Up to the wheel hubs or center line of wheel is the weight of the vehicle plus contents. Wheel hub or center line of wheel up to fender is two times the weight of the...
  11. Ox Lockers

    Exactly.
  12. 2021 Rubicon EcoDiesel Lemon Law Buyback - What should I do?

I would buy again. Every manufacturer has their issues. At least FCA did the right thing, that is a major positive. If anything, wait a year and buy one. If you can't wait, buy one.
  13. Let's talk front lockers

I took a gander at your instagram you have listed. Based on some of your pics, I would go ahead and get lockers front and rear. Turing with front lockers while off-roading is not that big a deal. Your steering will get "heavier". It really comes down to your right foot and how much...
  14. 5.13s go in tomorrow!

I can't stand ARB. The locker itself is a solid design, you won't break it. The issue is all the plumbing and more often than not, something will happen. Every vehicle I dealt that had ARB's, failed due the plumbing, and every friend I have that has ARB has had them fail due to plumbing...
  15. Shock Help - Do I really need adjustable?

I prefer the fine adjustment on King. They remind me of my dirt bike shocks where you can fine tune them based on what you are doing. I map them out and have a log for the type of terrain/speed I am going on. The others where it is three clicks are great as well. Simplicity. One thing...
  16. Gladiator in snow - disappointment?

I'm watching GME and AMC stock, lets shoot for 1,000 pages..... Gladiator is great in snow minus the TC and ABS. Hopefully the manufacturer monitors these websites and realizes too much computers is a bad thing. The same thing is talked about on all the other forums and there is a...
  17. Gladiator in snow - disappointment?

Difficult to convey the full picture in a short paragraph based on a single question and it make sense to everyone or to one person. I have a pretty solid section on computer aided systems and how and why they kick in. I also demonstrate a lot of this and the negative effects. I follow up...
  18. Gladiator in snow - disappointment?

Cool, I use to live in MDW and moved up to PA once I retired. Got in with a buddy and did a lot of mobility/track driving and did some of the Chump car racing, Before that O'neils summer and winter courses, and the other usual mobility/track courses. Started as a kid racing dirt bikes and into...
  19. Gladiator in snow - disappointment?

It is an ABS issue and you are correct in what you are saying. The abs on this particular vehicle is extremely sensitive, the same is for the traction control. Toyota 4runners are simmilar, but worse and one of the main reasons I traded it off.
  20. Gladiator in snow - disappointment?

I disagree with this. I run 35" BFG KM3 and have no issue with snow and reasonable performance in ice. The trick, and its not a trick, is to lower the tire pressure. Today I was running 23 psi in front and 20 psi in the rear. Had no issues on snow and ice all day. The bed was not loaded...
