I rode that envy train since the first person posted pictures. I actually hesitated before clicking the post button when mine arrived. The wait sucks. I would say it was almost as bad as the wait when I custom ordered the Jeep rather than pick one off the lot.
I have a CVT Mt Shasta that’s my preference. I’ll go iKamper one day. I’m building a drawer system and fridge slide. It’ll have a sleep platform but I’ll likely let the kids and dogs use that. I plan on having about as close to a daily driven bug-out truck as possible.
I can see what they are mechanically trying to accomplish. I have an old cutting board that is pretty thick and since HDPP has zero give, it might also work. I'm a "hold my beer" kind of Oklahoma engineer, so I will try numerous solutions before settling. I had a trifecta of demands that needed...
I have some high-density foam mats that are made to go under gym equipment. They are about 5/16" but have a little give than the 8 pads. I think if I stack two squares of this mat, that should fit the bill. @RSI North America Inc said it should be standard for hardware stores, which I believe, I...
R+L Carriers was the freight company. Left Exeter, PA to Scranton, Pa, then to Wilmington, then to Oklahoma City.
I will definitely get some pics posted. I'll probably share a video of the bin and the RSI rack when I receive them. I can't find anything on YouTube showing those.
Did you order from OA as well? The rep I worked with told me to accept the package even if damaged. That they would be able to assist me in getting a new one. Then he said, some customers have been able to get temporary remedies while they wait. Otherwise, I reject it and wait another 60-90 days.
And, apparently, once you get the call it’s fast. The freight company just told me it’ll be at my house tomorrow. So 5 days from the OA call. We’ll all look back at this, with our BA caps and laugh.
Yeah, a buddy of mine runs one on his wrangler with the backbone system. The thing is super sturdy. The biggest win is that FR is all about options for their racks. Axes to awnings, you know that whatever you need has a bracket or a fixture to support it.
You are probably right on the RSI...
I should have chosen Front Runner for my rack. I went with the RSI rack and I was told that my cap shows this week but the bin and roof rack won't show until the end of January. [sigh]
