  1. Still driving JT Diesel around San Fran?!?!

My understanding is that CA is supplying most of NV and AZ with fuel and CA is importing most it's the oil and a good portion of already processed gasoline. We have lost 2 refineries (approx 20% of refining capacity) in the last 6 months because the environmental regs were too stringent and...
  2. Still driving JT Diesel around San Fran?!?!

I paid $7.99 yesterday in the mountains, but only bought 5 gals to top up. Honestly for the 4-6K miles I drive this thing per year now, It's not going to kill me. Most responsible people will just adapt.......Like less trips through the Starbucks/Dutch Bros drive though or cutting back on...
  3. Official EcoDiesel Oil and Filter Recommendations

I don't want to jeopardize my warranty, but I do believe my manual states the oil must meet the MS-12991 spec which the FS does. It may not say it on the bottle because of licensing rights, but Amsoil told me is exceeds the old bs spec. The later manuals actually state you must use an API...
  4. Official EcoDiesel Oil and Filter Recommendations

The screwy thing about the Penz and many other mainstream oils labeled as "synthetic" is that they really aren't synthetic at all...... I have a hard time not using a better product when it's available and will pay me back with longer drain intervals and protection. NAD allowed these...
  5. Official EcoDiesel Oil and Filter Recommendations

Funny how many times this is going to go around in circles. The MS-12991 is an outdated spec that Amsoil FS meets/exceeds? My understanding is Amsoil doesn't pay license the MS-12991 spec so it can't be printed on the bottle.
  6. Official EcoDiesel Oil and Filter Recommendations

So is the lower noack volatility rating of the MS worth the trade for the lower sulfur content of the FS? Hmmmmmm...... I'm under extended warranty for another 3yrs or 125K miles, so I will likely stay with the recommended oil.
  7. 21 gladiator Front end popping noises even parked

Steering gear bolts and pitman arm are my most common finds.
  8. Alignment adjustments.

If the camber were perfect 0° this "could" be the case, but camber on these trucks is usually -0.25 to -0.5°. It's always good practice to recheck after a change has been made. In a negative camber scenario, rolling the axle rearward (for positive caster) would result in toe out, yes?
  9. How Much Did You Spend on Your Gladiator Today?

Didn't drive it so $9.77 today on registration and insurance.....Not including maintenance and depreciation. ;)
  10. Alignment adjustments.

Or just tell you to take it to a competent installer!
  11. What are your experiences with the ACCUAIR system?

All actual mechanical things being equal before and after the install, my guess would be unequal corner weights. The system has height sensors all 4 corners and maintains pressure to maintain a base height yes?
  12. 392 Gladiator V8 Hemi confirmed by Jeep CEO!

I had a guy tell me last week while I was camping that a hemi Mojave was confirmed for $60K. I was polite and didn't call BS immediately, but that just didn't add up at all! For $60K, they would sell more than could be produced!!!???
  13. Brake booster check valve hiss

When I looked at one in the shop, I remember it being one part and wasn't separable. Buy the whole tube?
  14. Brake booster check valve hiss

I do believe that is a semi common failure and will leads the burning up the vacuum pump when it runs nonstop due to the leak.
  15. 3.0 Diesel 85K mile service - results & photos

I'm always thinking about counterfeit when the price is that far off?
  16. Coolant leak and black antifreeze

My vote is the dealer/tech doesn't want to work on it, so they are selling something easy hoping you will go away. I hope it's as easy as a coolant tank/hose, but that surely looks like oil. My experience with our local dealerbus thst they resist doing any warranty work they can get out of.
  17. IDEAL ARB PLACEMENT

HELL NO! They cannot power that kind of current draw, but you can use one to trigger the relay on the compressor and run the large twin power leads to the battery. I cant remember which color wire it was since it's been 5 years, but it was easy to figure out.
  18. Eaton/Detroit TrueTrac instead of locker?

This is not how the 2.5:1 bias works........ I applies 2.5ish times the torque (depending on application)required to spin the slipping tire to the tire with more traction. Apply the brakes and the available torque just got higher. I agree that they are probably one of the best LSD's on the...
  19. Diesel cooling options and ideas

Thank goodness! We have a definitive fix....All we need is "Skinny 38's" full delete, tune, and Mishimoto radiator (that will most likely require using that warranty)? I'll believe it when someone I trust trys it out.
  20. 3.0 Diesel 85K mile service - results & photos

If you really think about it, EVERYTHING is a pyramid? The CEO at McDonalds makes more than the burger flipper? Is that a scam or scheme? No it's a business model that works! I'm a dealer with a retail location, but have no desire to build a MLM team. Trust me when I say it's not really worth...
