Hi Tom, looks nice! In theory, the house should be done by the end of May and we’ll (if Covid-19 doesn’t delay us on the build) move up to Nederland...lots of snow and away from the world.
I'm regearing. With the Rubicons 4.10s and going from 33's to 37's the math works out as such: 37/33 = 1.1212 x 4.10 = 4.5969, therefore I'll go with 4.88's. Though the 4.10's work ok popping around town, I don't really feel they would have the chops for up in the mountains off road.
Ok, help me here. I am trying to determine my 'new' breakover/departure angles. I'm using the following calculator:
https://www.vcalc.com/wiki/KurtHeckman/Breakover+angle
Now, for the details. JTR with 2.5 TeraFlex lift. 37" Nitto wheels. So, just noodling the breakover angle, if stock...
Just an update after picking up DawgBox from alignment. Talked with Trick Trucks and they are happy to have advertising...so here it is...two thumbs up TT! Especially Richie and Tanner...great group to work with when you've already packed your tools to move (should have kept them!).
I went with 37"s and they handle wonderfully. Figured I'd just carry one of these https://www.quadratec.com/p/arb/speedy-seal-tire-repair-kit along with my spare of course.
Definitely DawgBox and I would love to do it. Not sure anyone will be out of lock down until the end of May, a mid-June Moab may be feasible. Moving to Colorado at end of May if they can finish the house in time...may have to finish building the rear out quickly if the trip plans become a reality.
I'm waiting to hear also...though with my upgrades to 37"s and a 2.5 TeraFlex lift, I'm hoping that'll help...it's the tight switchbacks that give me just a little pause...:whew:
OK, DawgBox is coming home today and I certainly don't need an extra set of 5 wheels/tires. Easter special...price dropped to $1,000.00 AND I'll throw in the shocks, stabilizer!!
DawgBox is waiting patiently it's new 3 car garage to be built in Colorado. Should be done by end of May (along with the house connected to it). Will have enough space to put a lift, have tools properly organized. Sure beats the little apartment garage that I'm wondering whether I can get...
