Sound like you have it sorted out pretty well. Unfortunately it’s what it says the payload capacity is on the sticker in the dr door jamb that legally tells you how much you can carry. I suggest driving on a Cat Scale at the nearest truck stop to see for yourself how heavy your Jeep is at ready...
I owned the last of the Dakota 318,5.2lt V8’s. In a 2002 reg cab 4x4 Sport 5 sp, I ordered special with HD Tow package and payload of up to 6,500, plus 1,900 respectively. The Magnum was only rated at 210 hp, 240 lbs ft. But ran like a scalded cat! Especially on the beaches. With the 5 speed and...
Ok I had a similar problem years ago with a 78 Scout II TERRA 4x4 truck. I had installed a unique Air-Way bed cap, that was an open front cap that had a water tight seal to the cab roof. I lined the bed with a removable carpet lined camper insert, with bean bags for comfort. But it kept getting...
Ok for the critical critique that lurks in the shadows on this site, I made the grave mistake of not starting my last post on oils and their cold and warm ratings with a preface of “At first startups, ESPECIALLY when Cold, colder than Florida ever gets the 0w is not as critical as warmer...
With all the premature ware in mostly the valve train assembly, up top in the last area to have lubrication upon startup, also while just driving along. Makes me suspect the oil specified by Jeep, the 0w20 synthetic oil, that’s required by the manufacturer. But in the international market they...
There are two issues I can think of you might encounter. First being lower mpg, second will be hydroplaning sooner at lower speeds on the highway, especially compared with the Dualer HT tires, that have a high rating for hydroplaning resistance. But better on loose terrain off road.
Plain water dripping can only be from either rain drains finding their way down, or the ac being activated by even just the defroster running, or air recycle system on. I’ve never noticed if my ac button light is on when using the defroster.
In my humble opinion IF I was to spend the kind of $$$$ these lights cost? Instead I would invest in aftermarket camshaft and valve train assembly. I’m just a function over form type a guy.
One of my biggest disappointments in all new vehicles as mere thousandare plebes of the new car market is the fact manufacturers have stuck with bland interior colors, oh there’s the occasional red, or green, parchment, or take the Katskinz route. But I remember a time where you could walk into...
The only reason I would think about running any tires larger than 33/34” would be if I off roaded more than I do now, which is maybe once a month. But up to 40”? Only if that was my dedicated off roading toy, I trailered, or drove to off roading areas slowly and safely, hoping that it doesn’t rain.
Past Wranglers I’ve owned only had the inefficient 3 speed automatic, so at the time I always chosen the 5 speed manual. But today’s manual has weird ratios that could only put a smile on an epa inspectors face. The automatic is really nice, smooth easy to control with either the go pedal or...
Yea Sylvania Silver Star Ultra are the brightest over the counter name brand halogen bulbs, that I’ve used with decent improvement in many vehicles over the years, but at close to $40, actually cost around the same as some LED’s, that may cause issues. The only LED’s I’ve used in the past with...
I’ve had my first two complimentary Jeep Cares oil changes within the 10,000 miles so far, 4,000 for the first at 50% oil life, then 4,500 for the second at 45% oil life. At the dealer I bought my JT at. With the full synthetic 0w20 and filter they use. But from now on, especially in Central...
