I also wonder if i have given the bags enough time to ruoture and release the media. I have less than 25 miles and mostly slower speeds......i saw on some other forums guys were driving at least double that before they beads worked correctly. Maybe i should just keep cruising for more miles and...
No. I flipped them just to see if it changed anything and perhaps could isolate a bad tire. I do not have access to a tie machine. I also do not know how if 4WP mounted them (i.e. did they line up dots and valve stems, etc.) From what they told me during sales, the beads come in a bag that...
I swapped the 37s back on and rotated them in the process. It definitely improved, but still needs balancing attention. It starts to shimmy after 65+ now. I plan to ask the alignment shop to take a crack at it and see if they can balance them better. I have had 37 bgf km2 in the past and they...
Well........it is the TIRES. I decided to swap back to the stockers this morning to rule out tires officially before going down the suspension geometry/steering upgrade rabbit hole. It drove smooth as glass and got it all the way up to 75+ with no shimmy at all. So next I am going to swap the...
I though about swapping tires front to I rear to rule out tires. But I need the alignment data regardless.
I feel the shimmy evenly in the steering wheel. Not from a specific tire per se. It is faint at 38, more pronounced at 42 and then fairly noticable from then on as speed increases.
Also...
Today I got it to highway speeds and the shimmy is felt at 48+ and amplifies with additional speed. It does not feel dangerous and nothing severe like death wobble, but it is annoying and I want it solid. It will go to the alignment shop tomorrow and although they cant adjust much, the report...
Good to know about the beads. The media is the equal 8oz bag.
I should mention that I just got it off the jack stands and driven less than 10 miles total while I experienced this slight wobble. It was more of a function check than anything. I do have a synyrgy adjustable track bar and centered...
Not yet, but I have only had it to ~60 and experienced it all the way through ~50 to ~60. Tomorrow I will hit the highway and see if it levels out at some point. I have never tried the beads before so I have no idea what is to be expected either.
Also, for the spare tire folks, the 37 BFG KM3 on the 17x8.5 wheel does fit. I shoved it as far as it would go to the hitch and heat shield to get as much clearance to the rear track bar. There is about 1/2" clearance to the track bar at full pressure.
Thanks Andy. I only had 400 miles on the stock suspension, so I do not have a real good baseline. I can say that so far I have liked the ride and handling of the suspension related parts. It is tight, but not jarring or stiff. Jury is still out on the balancing beads. It is butter smooth till...
The above side shot is the 3/4" daystar and mopar 2" combination. I swung this route at the last minute and ditched 1.5" spacers after seeing @Brfertig post. Big thanks for posting because I am very happy with how it sits. 1.5" would have been worse for the geometry and unnecessarily high on...
