Been awhile since I posted anything here, life has been busy. Anyways todays mod was a 40% seat delete platform to mount a milwaukee packout box
I ended up removing 43 lbs of material (seat, floormat, plastic bits etc.)
The platform I built weighs 15 lbs
Net weight loss = 28lbs

Upgraded to 35's today. Went with Toyo Open Country 3s in 35x11.50. Decided to do 11.50s so I could keep the stock wheels and from what I read they won't rub without a lift, they should also be lighter than 12.50s.
Factory tires= 63lbs
New Tires= 61lbs
Netting me a savings of 10lbs (over all 5...
Got the winch installed. Like many others here went with the badlands Apex. Fitment is tight with this bumper and the winch housing does make contact with part of the grill. I had to relocate the power cable to the side of the control box like others have done. Other than that, it works great...
Got the fairlead in the mail and slapped it on. Then went camping for the weekend with the family. Did a little swimming and saw a bald eagle which was pretty cool. Didn't snap many pics though.
Fairlead weighs 3.5lbs
Remaining payload = 673.5
Next mod is the Evo alumilite bumper. I went with aluminum for obvious reasons. I liked this bumper because it retains the factory LED fogs and also the factory hooks which I thought was cool and you rarely see in many bumpers. I also could not find any info on this bumper or any pictures of...
Just came across this build page, very impressive. Would love to hear or see more about how the blacksheep tailgate is holding up. and your reasoning for choosing 4.56 gears with 37s, seems like most go 4.88s or even 5.13s
Took advantage of the weather and went over to Uwaharrie to get on some trails. I'm relatively new to offroading and had a lot of fun. I did the wolf's Den trail and then the entire Rocky Mountain Loop/ Slab Pile. It can certainly be done in a stock vehicle like mine. I didn't even need lockers...
Installed a Bestop EZ roll bed cover. I've never had a soft cover before but wanted to try it out due to the cost and weight savings over a hard cover. Install was very easy, and my wife likes it for bonus points! The entire thing weighs 27 lbs. vs the 50+ lbs. for a hard cover.
Payload math...
Installed 813 Designs cab side molle panel. Sticking with paying attention to added weight, I went with aluminum over steel, I found 2 or 3 vendors that produce these panels in aluminum. 813 is active on this forum, was responsive via email and produces their own rotopax mount so it was a no...
The first one is interesting, right at 60" packed so that may actually work, a little tight. and hard pass on the ice fishing hubs haha I live in NC, its gotta breathe. Thanks for the link though, I'll check it out
I really like the T4 and think it would work out well for my family, the problem is how long it is once its packed up. By my measurements it would probably fit in the bed if laid diagonal but that takes up a significant amount of space. My question is, are you guys aware of any similar tents...
I have my JT fully covered by it. Unfortunately I've only put about 500 miles on since I had it done, so not much to report on. So far it looks good and love the piece of mind it gives me. I think it will help prevent some pinstriping and certainly light scuffing which is why I got it.
Marking the tires as proof of a rotation is a good idea. Just be aware that while the spare tire is full sized, the spare wheel is a steel wheel (at least it is on my Rubi). So the dealer will almost certainly not do a 5 tire rotation.
Not too worried about it, I feel like I see more and more of them on the road. Especially if any of you are ever on a military base. Although I wouldn't be upset if they try out the new Hurricane in the JT whenever it gets refreshed.
