So, today I hitched up my travel trailer to take it to the dealership to get inspected and ready for a trip in 2 1/2 weeks ('20 JT Overland with trailer package, built 6/19, delivered 7/19).
I plugged in my 7-pin connector to the factory plug, and before I even started my truck, I noticed the...
Recent trip from S.E. PA to Niagara Falls, Ontario and back (plus driving around there for a day) I averaged (calculated) 25.3 MPG over ~1,100 miles driven. On the superslab it's cruise set at 70. That day of running around speeds were around 55 MPH tops (had the speedo set for KMH vs. MPH but...
Are you sure it's a trans leak and not the oil filter housing?
I had that go bad in my Grand Cherokee Ltd. 3.6L and once it was replaced (it had cracked all by it's lonesome) the leak disappeared. My mechanic has stated that this is one of the most common leaks in the 3.6L power trains and...
I kinda hafta wonder if aerodynamics truly play a role here. My Bride's 2019 Grand Cherokee Ltd. also has the exact same motor/trans (gearing unknown by me) and gets one mile to the gallon more than my JTO. The Grand's just a little slipperier in the air than the JT ;););)
Interestingly, BOTH...
I usually average 20 MPG bopping around with my Overland (delivered 7/19).
Just did a trip this weekend from S.E. PA to Niagara Falls, Ontario and back for over 1,100 miles and averaged (calculated fill to fill) just over 25 MPG, the VIC was also showing right around 25 (+/- 0.2) MPG. This was...
I tow a 5,100 lb (with all we want or need) 27' travel trailer with my stock Overland (delivered in 7/19) and have no issues. It pulls it just fine.
I shift manually. I have found that when accelerating from a stop, going with traffic, getting up to cruising speed, that I shift between 2,500...
I didn't set mine up, the dealership where I bought my trailer from did it.
They actually did a really good job of it. My truck feels just as planted towing as it does not towing.
One time, I measured rear sag with just the trailer attached (27' Vantage Sonic SN220VRB, 420 lb tongue...
I dunno...I'd still go with a WDH as that'll help transfer some of the weight to the front for helping with steering. I have the BlueOx WDH system.
My trailer is 5,100 lbs (with all we want or need), 27' long and a tongue weight of 420 lbs, probably 520 or so pounds with all in the front pass...
You're gonna love that outdoor kitchen. I have one on my Venture Sonic SN220VRB and LOVE it. Can cook burgers or other greasy things like bacon and eggs and the interior of your camper won't have that greasy cooking smell for a day or two. I have a two burner stove on my outdoor kitchen and...
I have the cold weather package in my Overland with the cloth seats. That's the way I ordered it when I ordered it in May of '19. LOVE it....use it all year 'round because it helps with lower back pain. I find it warms up a lot faster than the leather ones that are in my '19 Grand Cherokee Ltd...
Your Sport S with the regular tow package and the Automatic is actually rated to tow 6,000 lbs. Tongue weight should be around 600 lbs...opinions on that will vary here.
My trailer has a stated tongue weight of 425 lbs. My WDH alone is around 45 lbs then toss in what ever I have in the front...
That could be bad if your start/stop battery sh*ts the bed while your on a trip and towing and suddenly your aux brake controller also commences to stop working...
Maybe this should be a safety issue brought up to those who build our Jeeps... @JeepCares
I just put things I need in the front pass through. I'm guessing around 150 lbs of stuff (the heaviest is a piece of green fake grass carpet (6' x' 13') I put down when we're set up). The rest is distributed through out the camper. The fridge is aft of the axles as well as most of the storage...
You'll have no problems with that trailer. Definitely get the WDH (I have the BlueOx installed and set up by the trailer dealership) and the electronic brake controller. Get the proper wiring harness and it's plug and play with the Jeep wiring.
My trailer is 27' long and around 5,100 lbs with...
'20 Overland, ordered 5/19, built 6/19, delivered 7/19. Only around 26K on her.
A few trips to upstate Michigan, Raleigh NC, Toronto once (coming back around the northern side of Lake Ontario because Buffalo was closed due to heavy snow), Bahston, MA. Towing: Raleigh, NC, Assateague, VA, and...
2020 Overland, ordered 5/19, built 6/19. Stock. The weekend after I took delivery (7/19) I went from home (outside Philly) to Boston, MA and averaged 23.5 MPG, brand spankin' new from the factory. I was pretty impressed :)
Now I've got around 27K on the clock and through out, I've observed in...
I just leave the ball clamp lock in place (as per law, you're supposed to have it locked down whilst towing so you should already have that little piece in your arsenal). They can't move it to get a ball under there so, they can't tow it away.
