Based on the way the COVID pandemic went, toilet paper is probably the smarter investment…
In reality though, if post-apocalyptic movies have taught us anything, it’s more likely that food stores, water, gasoline and ammunition are what the currency will be after the collapse. What am I going...
I'm all for redundancy and think the spare valve stem is a good back up, especially if you are waaaay out there.
Right after I bought my JTR in 2020, we did the Tabeguache Trail right outside of Grand Junction. I was still bone stock and I caught a rock on the inside of the rear driver tire...
It's worth pointing out that it's not really Matt saying that it was the "hardest rescue". At the beginning he said that the customer warned him that it would be "the hardest most technical rescue that Matt has ever done" (paraphrasing), so that just became the title of the video.
I suspect...
@Dryfly24
I'll second this. I'm assuming you have TPMS monitoring which means your valve stem has the TPMS sending unit attached to it:
While it might be beneficial to have a spare standard valve stem to replace in a pinch, I would personally just swap the spare on. As @kevman65 said...
Totally agree!
I'm just trying to be inquisitive and gather information before I close my mind to it. It's my nature to analyze the cr@p out of everything (probably why I am a retired engineer rather than an HR Manager, or a Customer Service Agent) and just make sure that all the data is in...
I hear you, brother. In essence I'm already leveraged similarly. I paid all three vehicles off before I retired. I am not necessarily "complaining" about my current premiums; I mean..I'd love them to give me coverage for free...
I'm hijacking this thread because I'm really trying to...
I'll tell you what truly scares me is at what point the insurance companies say "In order to carry our coverage, you must use this plug-in".
I'm not a seer and I don't know how soon that is actually coming but I'm pretty sure it will be on the exact day before I give up my vehicles and start...
I'm almost there on the camera...I am sooooo close. But the insurance app/plug-in is still a ways off for me to buy in. See the post right above this one...
Amen brother.
In fairness, I am asking these questions about the Insurance app/plug-ins because I truly know nothing about them and have avoided knowing anything about them because I am a bit Big Brother averse. I don't want to automatically naysay their value but I am struggling to satisfy a...
Now see, this is where it would be nice if using one of these insurance tracking apps/plug-ins would "protect" the insured by showing to a court that the insured wasn't at fault. Maybe they do or can but it would be nice to know. Conveniently, the insurance companies don't advertise how they...
So many questions...LOL
1. Can you use the Uconnect system without getting dinged?
2. Can you use the Uconnect system if it is in CarPlay or Android Auto to do something simple, say with the radio?
3. Is the plug-in a device that goes into the OBD2 port? Wondering if it interferes with a Tazer...
You know, all 3 of my Jeeps I bought through my insurance company...LOL
Actually, for several years, State Farm had a Finance arm and would do car loans. Each time I checked dealer financing, my bank, and State Farm. My bank and State Farm were effectively identical but State Farm put...
You know...I wholeheartedly endorse this sentiment. As I've said many times on this forum, I currently own 3 Jeeps (2016 JKUR, 2018 JKUR, 2020 JTR) and I wheel them all, the JKUR's a bit more and more aggressively. Across all 3 vehicles, I have had one significant warranty repair done in the...
Thanks. I am really curious if the juice is worth the squeeze. If you don't mind, post any conclusions of what you figure out in this thread as you progress. I'd love to know if the savings are anecdotal, i.e. just what the insurance companies say they are offering but isn't actually...
Yeah, it just seems, like so many other things in life, that it is wolf in sheep's clothing. Right now I am at the mercy of the insurance company and they can raise my premiums at will (in addition to any claims or whatever actual reason they may have); but if giving them insight into my actual...
I have a question for those "in the know" related to this topic, tangentially: Generally, how much do the insurance apps or plug-ins actually save you on your insurance?
I ask because there is a recent thread talking about how to disconnect GPS and all of the vehicle data tracking/sending...
First off, I’ll say have no experience or knowledge of the VHB tape failing as I described. My rationale was based on the knowledge that most foam products eventually break down over time due to exposure to various things; different foams are susceptible to different things such as heat, direct...
I was too lazy to find replacement push plugs that had the right size head and the right size “pin section” so I just used a pair of side cutters to trim the originals. It has worked fine ever since and was essentially free. Good luck to you!!
