Sounds awesome but from what I've read most 16" wheels don't fit due to the size of the Gladiator's brakes. I don't think I've seen a 16" wheel thread on here but there could be one.
Saw this on Jeep Gladiator Nation on facebook from someone in Latrobe, PA. These are also Quadratec wheels that are 17x8.5 with 5.2 backspacing and 285/70r17 tires. https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/cj-retro-alloy-wheel-wrangler-jk-jl
Cool. I'm sure someone else here has the same size tires and wheels and will chime in, or may be on one of the other threads like Bigger tires on unlifted Sport S.
Also living in PA I share your concern about tires sticking out past the fenders since PSP can issue citations for it and it can also prevent from getting your Jeep inspected. I ended up getting some JL Wrangler Rubicon 6BZ40TRMAA rims on ebay for around $120 ea. I bought them separate and saved...
Today I put about 36-38 psi in all 4 and used the Rough Country Calibrator to set the height at 33.5". I was getting between 33.25" and 33.5" using a level and measuring tape.
I haven't had a tire yet that didn't pick up rocks haha. I had a set of the 315/70r17 C rated KO2 that I sold and had to go through the treads with a screwdriver to dig out these teeny tiny rocks. It's amazing the amount of rocks that get picked up. Too bad there isn't a market to sell those...
Got them mounted today. Pretty sweet. I really don't notice the extra 20lbs per tire weight but they are stiffer as a D compared to the SL Cooper tires I had before. I had them set at 34 psi but my tpms monitor is all wonky and shows 2 of them at 29 psi so I'll check the pressure out tomorrow...
Out of the two, I like the Fifteen52 Traverse HD better. Personally I'd rather have the $160 Quadratec Hardrock wheels or their Retro CJ wheels which are the right size and offset for your stock tires and if you decide to get bigger tires in the future...
Decided to get them from Carid. Bought them Wednesday not long after I made the last post and they arrived yesterday. I'll post pics after install. I'm impressed with the tread depth.
Here's a thread about them from 3 months ago. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/received-new-meats-for-the-gladiator-falken-rubitreks.29127/
I have 285/70r17 Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S on mine and they're nice but are standard load and close to stock weight so the mpg is about the same. I'm thinking of going to the 35x10.5r17 Kenda Klever but they are 67lbs ea. You could go up to 285/75r17 or 295/70r17 or if you want more of a pizza...
Walmart raised the price to $201.30 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Kenda-Klever-R-T-KR601-35-10-50R17-121R-Tire/857733786?wmlspartner=wlpa
Carid has them for $186
