I suspect that if the replacement LED specs are consistent with the OEM LED specs then the replacement lights will work fine.
If I were one of these vendors, I would want the known defective tail lights back in house. That is where proper troubleshooting starts, not with the vehicle.
It is...
Yeah, as you pointed out, it is absurd to think that there are different diagnostic configurations. I suspect that the issue is that there is quite a variance in the LEDs that Oracle is using in the tail lights and some are far enough out of spec that they are causing the jeep to throw an error...
I am sorry, but it is not incumbent on the customer to troubleshoot a bolt on DOT approved vendor part.
Of course this is a product defect, if it causes some jeeps to throw an error code (and the purchase and use of a programmer), then the product is defective.
I find it amazing that people...

Once you get the right nozzles on them they are great, but it is an extra $44 per gas can to make them work properly. If I were not already invested there would be no way I would ever use rotopax!!!
As I mentioned in every post their customer service sux!!!
I like rotodrip ?... In stock configuration the nozzles leak like a sieve. The Ai13 nozzles are rock solid and do not leak, but damn they are expensive. $25 for the pax nozzle, $10 for the spout adapter, and $5 for the cap. So $40 for the nozzles/can and the vents come out to about $4/can...
I have one, unfortunately you have to be very carefull to get it centered on the can opening, it is smaller than the nozzles designed for the can and tends to leak around the base, but the venting feature does indeed work well.
This one was designed for water cans.
I gotcha there, without venting and the right nozzles, rotopax cans are worthless... As I mentioned, I was looking for the nearest ditch to throw them into.
But with these nozzles and vents they are great...
How to make the rotopax cans actually work (so you don't want to throw them in the first ditch you drive by, their customer service is also TERRIBLE):
The back story on rotopax; I received two 2 gallon cans, mounted them, fueled them and headed out on a trip. (like everyone else here I have...
Here is how I carry my rotopax gas cans (I hate rotopax!!!), they will also carry jerry cans...
The mounts are made by MORryder and OK4WD can get them, ask for Stephanie (she got them for me)...
As azmojave said they are MORryde. MORryde does not sell direct. I ordered them from OK4WD...
They fit great and are an easy install, you have to deviate slightly from the instructions. Each side takes a thin spacer and a thick spacer. You in actuality need two thick spacer...

On the left side is and ARB awning and I hang the ARB tent from it.
How I now carry Roto-Pax (I literally spent more getting the cans to work than I spent on the cans, the pictured can is not...
You might have your lawyer contact their legal dept and mention Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, but you have to be willing to back it up with filing suit. I rarely works out well for the dealer or the manufacturer...
Ps. This is not legal advice, I simply stayed at a holiday inn express last...
