Youāre absolutely right my bad. I fixed it. I have a pinion angle of 2 degrees and operating angle of 9.3 degrees. Earlier my pinion angle was .2 degrees and operating angle was 10.5. Sorry if I was using wrong terminology earlier. All new to this. My bad. But she is happy here. Iāll...
The fix is in!!! Guys at CPW (central parts warehouse) in IL. Weāre on the same page with setting the caster at 5. After all set and done the pinion angle went from 11.6 degrees (caster of 6.6) to 9 degrees with a caster of 5. Did a full alignment and had me take it out on the highway. The...
Thatās good to hear. Iām on the fence⦠itās small vibration at 60 felt through the floor. Not sure if 5 degree caster will take it out or if I should shoot for 4 degrees for the better pinion angle. How much of a difference is there in the steering between a caster of 5 and 4?
I didnāt
I didnāt delete the FAD. 2024 and up donāt come with a FAD. They have a block off plate. I would love a fad since it already has the weaker split axle.
Great advice! And yeah u can get away with it but eventually sheāll need one. Iām gonna see if a caster of 5 splits the difference between steering comfort and getting rid of the vibration
Youāre the guy Iāve been looking for hahaha. Iāve been trying to figure out what I need to do to install the rest of the FAD. Is it just the motor? Anyways Iāll know Wednesday if a caster of 5 will take the vibration away. I have a 3.5 in lift so itās a must for pinion/ driveshaft angle with...
Haha I knowā¦. Iām a FF so I can roll with the best of them. But I also donāt mind letting people know when I have an issue. I donāt name call or usually donāt even bother but I did this timeš . Just didnāt know what his deal was. Iām over it. And thanks for jumping in. I figure thatās...
Iāve kinda had it with ya lol. Iāve kept my peace but you have had something negative and conflicting to say with every comment. Thatās where I was told to measure. I moved it around multiple spots and they all read the same. You were completely wrong with your advice on caster angle. Only...
So I got ahold of my alignment print out and found I was at 6.6 caster. Putting me at a 10.5 pinion angle. Talked to the guys at Adamās driveshaft and they agree that angle is to steep. They said I should shoot in the 4ās for caster but might be able to get away with a caster of 5. So my...
Iāll keep ya updated if I figure it out. Seems like the reason there was a FAD. Without itā¦.its pick your poison. Hopefully I have this sorted out by tomorrow
Good idea. All within my capabilities. Just got a Klein level to check angles as well. Was gonna go through the shop since their work is under warranty and they can do an alignment. But like you said if Iām equally adjusting the he control arms a little at a time I shouldnāt need an...
All adjustable control arms. The angle is at 5.5. Are you assuming it was just lifted with non adjustable control arms and is sitting at at a bad caster? My gladiator handles greatā¦thatās not the issue. Itās lifted but adjusted. Im definitely no expert⦠but from what I have been reading in...
Itās in that sweet spot now. If I had a FAD it wouldnāt be an issue. But since my driveshaft is always turning it doesnāt like the angle from the front differential in the 5.5-6.0. If it was lower, than my driveshaft/ differential angle would be inline. But now my steering will suck...
Hello all! New to the forum and new to posting on forums but Iām at a lose. Iāve read many threads and feel with the 24 and no FAD thereās a new issueā¦. Here we go
2024 rubicon X. Just got a 3.5 Clayton overland plus lift on 38 x 13.5 nitto trail grapplers. Also got an Adams 1350 CV...
