For sure, just got it back from powder coat. Will be a few weeks however as I have the dreaded corrosion on some doors. Hopefully goes in next week to have everything fixed. I went with the JCR since the hitch is incorporated into the bumper, and doesn’t hang down. Looks pretty stout. I will...
Well, to be fair, you came in off the top rope with this to start, “Tell us you don't wheel it without telling us you don't wheel it”.
I'm about to put the JCR carrier on with a custom tire mount for a 40 that my buddy designed and built. I have seen two go through the rubicon with carriers. I...
Interesting. TSB specifically states a zinc spacer. Maybe there is more they did to, states a newer hinge in TSB as well. Again, hopefully the shop does a good job at prep and sealing.
Just as ShadowsPapa said, the manger at the collision center I’m dealing with said they have not had one return...
To be honest, I am not educated enough on that subject to even begin to discuss. Jeep seems to think this is a fix. I’m sure it’s a bandaid if anything until the next redesign. Just hoping the shop does a good job on prep and paint. And if I have to replace a shim every few years then so be it...
Also supposedly the new hinges come with the zinc shims per the TSB. Sort of like the artificial zinc anode they put on boat motors, maybe it helps, maybe it doesn’t? But I do assume the collision center will paint and prep different than the factory. Person vs machine? Not sure
Just got a call from the collision center, warranty claim is already approved. They ordered all of the parts and will be here end of next week. Hood, all 4 doors, tailgate all hinges and bolts. This feels like it’s going to good right now.
So, they are submitting for approval today, he said we should know by the end of the week. I may be jumping the gun and being all excited, but hopefully there will be no issues. Once approved, he said they will order parts, a week or so, then schedule for repairs which could take another 1-2...
Absolutely make the trip. They just finished, all 4 doors, hood, tailgate and hood hinges they are going to replace. He said they have done 40 jeeps so far. I don’t even want to know what that bill would be if not under warranty.
Well, at the dealer now. They sent me to the collision center, and the guy looked at the hinge and went yup, then asked to open my doors, and low and behold we found bubbling and corrosion at the bottom of the doors too. Jesus… didn’t even see that. This guy knows what he is doing and they are...
Well, definitely not wax, and It goes in this morning so we shall see. The forward part of the hinge you can start to see some small
Bubbling in the paint. I guess I’d rather have it be flaking than the start of corrosion. I’ll just throw on a set of black hinges. I want to find out sooner than...
Yup, that was my main concern, looks like it is just starting at the very edge. I don’t have anything on any of the door hinges or anywhere else, figured I would try and get it nipped right away.
So,
I think I allready know the answer, but just wanted opinions. I think I have some corrosion starting on the hood hinges. It’s minor, but you can see I think where it is starting to chip the paint and looks like it is on the hinge and hood surface. Thoughts and what do you think from...
This is the second time the code has come back. Looks like there is a pre and post DPF sensor, I checked all and nothing looks broken, all seated and no broken/chewed wires from what I can see. I have only driven the jeep for a few short cycles since I got back, so I just got done taking it out...
Got a P047E and D, exhaust pressure sensor circuit B intermittent. I got back from a 2 week work trip and the Jeep sat, have t had this issue untill now. Only thing I can think is the soot level is at 70 percent and maybe something is getting clogged or gummed up from it sitting. Would running a...
Welp, I still have the light after multiple drive cycles. And 150 miles. Tried one last thing. Went through and retightened all fittings. I took the quick drain out and plugged bottom with pipe tape. I pulled inlet and outlet ports and used the supplied or rings instead of pipe tape,( directions...
